Hi,

my last game was Necrons vs. IG (me)

I fielded a Leman Russ Exterminator with Hull Lascannon and Knight Commander Pask.
I fired all of his Weapons from the stationary Tank (didn't move to use Pask's special rule) at the Monolith.
Do I get the +1Strength from Pask against it ? My opponent said no.
I borrowed his Necron Codex and read the part of the "living metal" special rule.
It only says that it Ignores lances and weapons which get a 2nd d6 for penetration, both doesn't apply for Knight Commander Pask.

Was he right ? is there any errata that disables Pasks special rule against the Monolith?

You only ever roll S+D6 for armor penetration against the Monolith. It ignores augmented strength, which is what Pask provides.

Unless it specifies that you get a bonus against living metal - such as blessed vehicles for the deamonhunters.

IIRC Blessed only provides a bonus against a number of Chaos vehicle upgrades, none of which are Living Metal, and most of which no longer exist.

Thank you for your replies,

but where can I find the rule that it ignores the augmented strength?

It's right in the rule for Living Metal.

Look under the heavy support at the monolith's special rules. In the US Codex it is the first special rule. Now that I look at it there is nothing that states that you would not get the extra strength. It only affects weapons that use multiple dice for armor penetration and for weapons that count the armor value as less than what it actually is.

Pg 21 of the US Codex under special rules for the Monolith unit entry.

Yeah the Living Metal rule is really poorly standardized.

I thought Pask gave Tank Hunters?

In any case, vs a monolith you roll S+D6, end of discussion

He's better. If the vehicle is stationary, he adds +1 to Armor penetration for all the Russ's weapons, and rerolls to wound against MCs.

Emp Servant, look in a newer copy of the codex, there are two printings and the more recent one says that you will only ever roll unagmented Strength plus 1d6 no matter what. So no Crack Shot, no Tank Hunter, no Furious Charge, nothing that adds to the strength or provides any sort of bonus.

Right, I have brand new copies of both the english codexes, Knight Commander Pask adds +1 to armour penetration against vehicles. Living metal states that you use your normal strength with nothing added + a single D6 no matter what. So you can not add anything extra on. Case closed.

BTW, you could only glance anyway.

But I can penetrate it with the hull lascannon^^
the glances if it worked would be a bonus, but it doesn't matter.

The blob squad on my home objective with lascannons recieved the "Bring it down" order and destroyed the mono finally.
I chose to shoot his destroyers with the Russ instead.
