have you ever had something go so tactically bad, that all you can do is say WTF!?!?!?! for example, my shas'o got 1 shotted by an ork 'ard boy with a rocket launcher. hell, lazyork and i both didn't see that 1 shot coming, and after that it all went downhill...

I overran a building with SM and Scouts with my Innquisitorial retinue and a GK squad to sieze an objective. His turn he brings on his Redeemer from reserve. His template wipes out my guys to a man. BEFORE the termies inside had a chance to pop out.

Meh, picture a Carnifex. Picture it being one of two 'Nids left on the table (two carnis!). Picture R'mer, two HHeads, 6 FWarrs, a pair of suits with ML/Plas, and shadow sun newly arrived with bodyguard packing flam/fusion...One thinks then of a Carnie shaped explosion? Nah, one wound ...Shadow Suns retinue gets eaten and she's run off the table , and the fire warriors get the same... Finally bring it down with the rest of my army (what's left of it) to finish it off

My unit of 20 lesser daemons that I intended to deep strike right next to the enemy's C&C objective were lost in the warp and a wrecked defiler was blocking my two rhino's full of plague marines from reaching the objective. I had a Daemon Prince attacking the defiler, but all he could do was wreck it, not blow it up. They couldn't even get out and hoof it because a rhino was blocking their path from the other direction, and my chaos lord with the chainfist was stuck in close combat with a bunch of berzerkers. The greater Daemon that successfully deep-struck next to the enemy's objective killed the enemy Daemon Prince, but then he was shot down like a dog by the chaos marines camped on the objective before he could charge them. Gaaahhh!!!

Blood Angels Devistator unit in +4 cover first round Rage run out in the opean get shot up by CSM Havoc squad! Never will I take Devistator squad with my blood angles agin!

Ork Looted Wagon with Boomgun in my deployment zone. Instead of shooting it fails it's "Don't Press Dat!" roll. And then failed it again. And again. And again. Four turns in a row!

The damned thing ended the game in my enemy's deployment zone and never fired a shot. Plowed right through difficult terrain and never failed one of THOSE rolls...

I wanted to try something totally different and took a warboss on a bike all hopped up with killyness. And for some lame reason, forgot about the "if a tank moves more then 6 inches you hit on 6s in CC" thing. I wanted to take out a land raider with him, drove up, then when I was rolling the dice, was reminded about the said 6s to hit. I was so pissed I forgot that tiny little rule.
He ended up being my most hilariously awesome death tho, took the fire from the entire army, even a librarian couldnt kill him, but a Razor back with HB and a storm bolter killed him dead in one shooting phase lol.
But yea after he died, I got owned pretty badly. Another testament to dont mix footsloggin/mek/speedfreak Orks. Go with one or the other

Stompa squad rolls poorly (twice in a row) for stompied, they end up running off the board, that was like 2000 points, gone.

My friends Broadsides got hit by a Battle Cannon. Both had to make a save. My friend rolled snake eyes, and his jaw dropped. It was quite amusing. Those 2+ saves aren't always 1337.

i had something similar happen with my broadside in the same game my Shas'o got 1-shotted. a 1 in 6 chance of botching, and when i really need the save, i botch.

I REALLY need more suits.

My entire first company arrives and the battle field along with elements of the 1st. I arrive thinking that i'm going to face nids and chaos. Instead i'm point in the front of my own allies the imperial guard and space marines.

IT WAS SPACE MARINES VS SPACE MARINES ALL OF WHICH WERE TOOLED FOR ANTI-INFANTRY!

So we all set up wondering wtf just happened and at the end of the game the other side won only because they out numbered us.

Damn Planet strike!.

So i lost up to 2/3s of my army because of the lack of vechiles in my army.

And 5 super heavys bearing down on my postion. And there was a nid player with us.....

Anyone think of WTF?

We all agreed that this was just a paint ball match of 40k and that the nids where robots and the space marines were just there for practice and the live rounds where a very weak bullet (todays bullets).
So thats how the game ended with both sides unhappy with the result.

My mob of 30 boyz get assaulted my a group of 5 Grey Knight Termies. They killed ~15, my boyz kill one. What happens? The boyz have to pass morale on double ones, and sweeping advance kills them off. *sigh* some days it's not good to be an ork

You know Terminators can't Sweeping Advance, right?

forget sweeping advances, boyz are fearless in a mob of 15, and they can use their numbers for leadership tests for morale XD there should have been no fallback

He said they killed roughly 15 boys, so there being only 14 or less left is possible. However, cheesy is right. Termies can't Sweeping Advance.

Had my SM Captain charge a Warboss for a "stand off"

Fluffed my Rolls and Captain rolls a 3 for Invul.

He got insta-Gibbed.

playing against daemons... 2 objectives. the daemon player rolls poorly for reserves... by turn 5, he has nothing on the table.

bottom of turn5, he deepstrikes in his last 2 units. onto both objectives. manages to scatter/run his units so that they are within 2" of each objective.

game ends turn 5 without me getting the chance to retaliate.

I should have spaced my guys around the objectives more... protected them from this kinda crap... but I just didn't see it comming.

Um - two chosen squads infiltrating, and two lesser deamon squads deep striking - due to ordinary rolls - two of them dont turn up till turn 4 - the other two dont turn up at all!

2 Grey Knight squads are all that are on the field.

Termies that I had stowed away deepstrike and die (one on turn 4, 1 on turn 5. I was defeated morally, my opponent gloats.

And yet, I still win. Amazing? Oh, yes. My opponent waffles what little shooting he bothers to send my way (he had been preparing himself for termie onlsaught). He finds that he has left the bare minimum troops on the objective (keeping the hard-hitting stuff away in cover, so that they are safe from termies.)

I manage to charge the only two objectives that he held. Contested one, held the other. Game ends.

Lucky? Yes.
The look on my opponents face? Priceless.

Deep striking land speeders and everyone took a nosedive lets see that is 3 per suad allowed 3 fast attack that is 9 botched rolls and 9 dead land speeders!

I was playing a quick game against my brother in 4th edition rules.
I was losing terribly and his avatar was going after my last infantry squad.
I had a sentinel w/multilaser, a leman russ missing a turret, and 1 squad of guardsmen with a lascannon and a grenade launcher.

He had an avatar of khaine, a squad of dire avengers and some dark reapers left.
I do my shooting phase for my infantry at the avatar and I roll for each weapon individually. My lascannon gets a wound and my GL does nothing along with my lasguns. I remember my sergeant with a laspistol and figured "what the hell". I roll a six to hit and a six to wound. My brother says "So what, I still have my save." and rolls a 1. Avatar drops like my brother's jaw. He tries to get revenge by assaulting my sentinel with his Dire Avengers, he succeeds in blowing up my sentinel, but also succeeds to lose 6 Dire Avengers and having Asurmen take a wound.
My Leman Russ demolished the dark reapers with a salvo of bolter fire and my squad attempts to take out the dire avengers.
At the end of everything my leman russ was the only thing standing.

Alright. I'm playing guard and I'm using CREEEEEEEED and in spite of this I still decide not to outflank with a punisher even though even though I'm against orks. I thought to myself I'll just keep it back for fire support for my main line as I had a chimera outflannking instead with a sargeant bastone squad. Seemed tactically sound enough to me. then as soon as the ork player's turn starts he puts on his cool face. And I ask what you smiling at? he says "snikrot." He outflanks assults my russ blows it up calls a waaaggghhh and wipes the floor with my main line. I was all "....Hang on....If I.....WTF?

dang. the power of the waaaggghhh is scary. that's why i have trouble against orks.

I had a great one tonight, playing Orcs vs my Wolves at 2800 Points (he wanted to see what he could get down on the table) My Vindicator Snipes the Painboy in his big Nob squad.

See he rolls his Truck up full o nobs and a boss, i blow it up with my predator, the vindicator then drops its template down, i get 9 wounds on him, and the ONLY one to fail his Invul save/cover save, was the painboy! Totally worth it


Oh, and same game. Wolf Scouts sneaking up behind Snikrot and taking his squad out lol

Blood Angels vs Blood Angels
I had all my armour on one side of the board and all my infantry on the other. My opponent was positioned evenly along his edge using buildings and woods as cover. All of my models were out in the open and ready to fire and had already destroyed his Devastator squad on the first turn. My opponent simply couldn't do anything as no matter what he moved it would have been destroyed on my following turn before he could even shoot or assualt it.

It was quite literally a game where I was going to get a massacre and I could see in his eyes that he knew it too. But seeing as it was a friendly game I wanted us both to enjoy it ... so ... confident that I would still win I moved accordingly so that he would be able to bring out some troops/vehicles and we could make a game of it. The result ended with me getting my butt well and truely kicked and yet another loss to my belt

I class it as a moral victory as I knew that had I played viscously I would have won easily, but I play for fun so don't regret not getting the win

from along time ago. 30 boys sititng on the objective... 1000 points of tau looking at them... shooting.... shooting... shooting... CC... game ends. 1 boy standing... i win.

playing against another mate. shoots my trukk first turn... roll... scatter 3d6 any direction i choose.
5 seconds later, unload 8 nobz, 1 painboy and gazzghull in the middle of a csm army.

now against me.
first thing that comes to mind is DONT TOUCH DAT!
turn 1... roll weirdboy power... ead banger.... lose 15 boyz. roll dont touch that... straight over gazzghulls nobz. i forfeit due to losing 800 points before i even moved.
