I have recently begun conversion of my very own O'shovah into something less static, attempting add some movement and a dynamic aspect to the otherwise plain model.
Instead of using the given pieces, I have instead completely removed the dawn blade (kept the bottom and top part of the blade for later) and begun hollowing out his metal left arm. Secondly there was the issue of the legs, By carving along the round knee joint at the calf, I was then able to bend the knee a little more for a better look, then adding a little greenstuff to clean up the mess made by the scalpel. Then there was the issue of the way the bicep met the shoulder, it wouldn't do to have the basic L bent arms, so as a result I carved out both arms at the joint between shoulder and bicep and swiveled them around until they met a resonable angle with which to work with
Now the biggest part of this conversion is replacing the dawn blade with a wraithsword I am to acquire soon (this weekend in fact) and then modifying it to fit into a two-handed grip. I then noticed that the given right arm would not at all accommodate for this so I was forced to greenstuff an extended hand out of the wristguard like the metal arm given in the O'Shovah set (of course I had to widen the grip to make sure the wraithblade could at least fit through the right hand if not the left.
Firstly the plan was to dynamically pose the legs in order to provide a decent stance that would accomodate for weighting of the blade eventually, drawing the weight forward would help balance the weight of the blade on the rear. However this meant upping the base size from a 40mm base to a 60mm base, adding even more stability although making it harder to transport and putting a lot more strain on each ankle but thankfully providing more area to make a truely scenic array.
So stage 1 is complete...well more than one stage has been completed but I lacked a camera at the time of modelling the arms and legs.

That's a really nice conversion. The only thing that gets me is how organic the fingers look. If I may be so blunt, I would suggest Making small blobs of greenstuff, let them harden, and then carve a rectangular finger to glue onto the hand.

Re Paul: I've decided to file down the greenstuff (slowed as it may sound but surprisingly effective) to a square likeness, much better than before believe me.
Due to come issues fixing the moved balljoint i've completely greenstuffed the right socket joint onto the body but I intend to cover this up using an experimental method involving using warhammer fantasy chaos shields, filing off the insignia and cutting them up into a lobstered shoulder guard, trying to keep true to the quasi-japanese appeal of the Tau. This should cover up the joint and I might try it on the other shoulder but I'll see how this goes later but first...
DAAA DAAA DAAA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Thankfully this weekend during a wonderful game of Dark Heresy a good friend gave me a wraithsword with which to use for this conversion - I am endebted. I have had to modify it significantly in order to strip away the eldar appeal such as filing away the the oval item off the back of the blade which I believed to be the power pack. The hardest part of course (well not the hardest...just the longest) was filing the wraithlord hand away until I had a smooth, unadulterated surface wihch I could adapt into the full length of the grip.
I've filed it a but further than in the picture to a pretty smooth surface instead of that rough look in the picture above and it's turned out quite nicely.
All it is now is the waiting game and making important decisions like whether to file off the oval ball at the stem of the blade as well as that whacky eldar insignia: a flip of the coin I guess.

Well after some blood, sweat and tears, I have completed the main portion of my conversion, now it is only a matter of cleaning it up to look 1/2 decent after the butchering I put the model through...
I have removed all insignia of eldar from the sword and have chosen to leave it plain, seeing as this is not actually the dawn blade itself and this is in fact an entirely new special character (commander shattersword).
Now time to unveil my creation!

Can't help it, but if you remove that sword and insert a guitar, that would be one awesome Battlesuit-rockstar!
