Some of you may have seen these guys on other sites. A Vendetta-heavy IG veteran list painted and modelled after the US Rangers in BHD. As you can probably see the infantry have been heavily trimmed to remove shoulder pads and various other tabs, they've also had knee pads added. Alll of the special weapons are from the FW ELysian weapons pack. All of the names are from soldiers involved in the battle of mogadishu. Feel free to offer C&C and enjoy.

Very nice! I recognize all the names except Martin and Gilmore. Also, no Shugart and Gordon? How about getting some Cadian snipers and fielding them as Ratling proxies? IMO, you can't do something about Blackhawk Down without paying tribute to two of the bravest soldiers of the conflict. (Not that they weren't all brave, of course.)

I really like them. I'm working on a Imperial Navy heavy squad myself at the moment (expensive but good fun).
I'd like to see a few more pics of the Valks tho, don't often get to see well done black vehicles.

Extremely impressive, my own guard army are veterans in vendettas and while I've themed them as an original my hat's off to you as you've done an amazing job and deep down mine are based off Blackhawk Down.

I've seen the army in real life it is a very nicely painted army even better up close and personal.

Are those handpainted A/C markings or a decal?

All handpainted, no decals anywhere.

Briefly considered Schugart and Gordon, but there wasn't a way to make it work rules-wise and still keep the flow with the rest of the list. Instead there are two snipers in the doors of one of the birds.

very cool and a great way to start out the P&M modelling area for the new year. did you model the sniper out of the valk door because of the movie or do you use the white dwarf catachan command valk rules in apoc games?

they were in a white dwarf and then posted for a while on GW's website. basically, it's a leader valkyrie with special apoc rules and two veteran snipers leaning out the doors instead of heavy bolter gunners.

Yeah, those rules came out about month or so after I had already modelled the vendetta. I guess if I run apoc I'd use it, but I really don't play megabattles too often.

Sweet job, I love them. And the level of painting was really good, everything was nice and clear. This might be one of my favorite guard armies I've seen.

Awesome job, every time I watch Black Hawk Down I get the urge to play my IG.

Love all the detailed conversions from the knee pads to the re-poses of how the guns are held.

Great looking IG. These guys don't even look Cadian what that awesome paintjob they are sporting.

Very nice, I had been planning on doing a Valk IG army themed on the movie as well. Though I doubt it will come out as awesome as this.
