Have about 40 to 50 models that im going to paint to have a complete army. Marines, Termies, Dreads, Pod, Tank, Bikes, Scouts, LotD, Commander, and Librarians. Started on a tact squad to try out blue painting skills (never painted a blue model).

How do you paint the red gem

First:I painted it mechrite red since I didnt prime it.
Second: painted the top of the gem with blood red with a cresent stroke so, the center of the gem still has the mechrite red.
Third: used blazing orange(thin the paint with water or acrylic paint thinner) to paint a dot to where i didn paint of with the blood red.
Fourth: a really small dot of blood moon yellow (only yellow i had) at an angle from the orange dot.

This is the simple of way ot painting a gem. On a bigger gem you usually have to do a white dot but gem is to small for that. It looks decent from a foot away but up close not so much. The lighting doesnt help much in this photo either. Don thave much practice taking photos and not having one of those fansy photo stations doesnt help :(.

Hope this helped
