Even the studio don't know after that but going on traditional releases it should be a marine, or CSM codex.
The DE models are almost entirely done, so I'd assume they come after the above marine release.

I relay hope they get one, don't know if it will happen tho. But on an up note after BA the list of armies that relay need a new coxed is mostly full of the never going to happens....so one (maybe some) might actually get one.

Honestly I'd just wait until you have the codex in hand to confirm when it's going to be released. I've given up listening to half baked rumors and what ifs. Until then, I take solace that yes my army is toned down but if I'm going to lose, I'm going to make it the most glancing hit, vehicle stunned, that squad won't die *pulls out hair*, 3 monoliths fest my opponents will ever suffer through. I may phase out but dammit I will make you bleed, curse and whine that you almost lost to an army book that is well over 8 years old. :end rant:

GW are not going to release 4 codexes in one year. They're going to release Blood Angels, some more space marine stuff then release another Space Marine supplement. Probably Dark Angels.

Hopefully this means they're taking their time and putting a lot of time and effort into completely overhauling the Dark Eldar and the Necrons. The 'Nids and Space Marines are really just updates and extensions of the existing rules system. The Necrons and Dark Eldar are ancient relics from game editions long lost to the perils of the warp.

Like said above though, until I see a Necron Lord on the cover of White Dwarf, I'll assume there is no new codex.

that's from a list on warseer that 8(?) pages old and is innacurate, the dark eldar dex is comming out on december 22nd 2010.

besides anything past blood angels on that list is garanteed to change.

yep, we all know that the only reason gw are updating space marines is because they've realised they haven't update DE and necrons so are releasing lots of stuff people will be interested in so that the DE and necrons get a properly done codex update.

Well, since a new DE codex will never be released, a new Necron codex will never be released either.

Templars right after Blood Angels? Where's this from, I haven't seen any mention of BT before (but I haven't kept up lately). It would seem to make more sense to do BA, DE, BT though I guess the part about them wanting to put out opposing armies after eachother would make that difficult (unless BT are considered a prime opponent for DE and I'm unawares - only thing that'd indicate that is they came together in the 3rd ed boxset I guess?).

Although, it makes sense to churn out a couple of easy to make marine dexes after eachother in a way, since they use a lot of the same units I guess. At the same time, you'd face some saturation issues. Oh well.

It would be nice to have a new 'cron codex, but I'm not holding my breath. There's been rumors about an update for at least a year, but I won't believe it until I see it.

that because BT aren't happening this year the rumour saying they would be has already been shot down by "the big dogs" (read: people who are more reliable).

Couldn't they do Chaos Legions to scratch that power armor itch?

Black Templars are the second least pointless marine variant after Space Wolves - they work in a much different fashion, even if they share some of the same units.
