Well since there are so many Traitor Guard armies on the forum I decided to hop on the bandwagon. I'm not gonna make an army just minis and to get better at modeling.

Here's a teaser.

I play Ultramarines and IG

That could work many deserters of the Imperium nowadays are part of the Gue'Vesa auxilleries that the Tau field from many small backwater worlds that are sequestered to the Greater Good.

These are in small numbers here and there valued but of no great consequence as many are recruited from civilian miltia or planetary populaces no Imperial Guard army group has ever gone over to the Tau as such things would be considered a disgrace to their Homeworld their founding and most of all the Emperor.

I dont think their are out and out desertions rebellions here and there mostly Chaos influenced the thing is you got to realise to rebel against any establishment in the Imperium first of all attracts the intention of envoys then the inquisition and then before you know it you've got army groups and the Astartes thundering down rebellion = heresy in the mind of the imperium

Thats why you never see Imperial worlds going "Hang on I dont want to be Imperial anymore" most governors are weak willed cowardly and weak minded aristocrats elected into positions of privilage when the s**t hits the fan its usually them who are on the first transports out.

Or they are usually possessed by daemons subverted by genestealer cults or ousted from power by the Tau or killed in millions of really hideous ways the story is up to you but Imperial Guard very rarely just desert.

So I think Traitors or Gue'Vesa or Genestealers are the way to go.

up to you though.... Most of all have fun.
