Well, here it is after many iterations and some terrific feedback from the DCM forum (Sign up, good stuff in there!). The theme is obviously the Siege of Terra, based primarily on Khan and his Scars (With Custodes/Big E support!):


















The camera doesn't capture it but all of the fire effects are flickering LEDs, so they look like real fire. I also have a soundtrack that plays in the background (DOW Marine music). The fire burning behind the stained glass in the building...is actually individual wreck markers I can remove when my vehicles blow up (Turned off, they simulate me popping smoke, turned on...well the rhino is dead!);





The display itself is a picture frame with MDF mounted via velcro. So after Adepticon I can pop this display out and put it on my cityfight board...then next year make another display and 'pop' that new one in. I might post an article on that for those whom want to make their own displays. Anyways, looking forward to Adepticon this year...I'll be adding my nick to my badge...so be sure to say hi!

Thanks for the comment. Khan is as counts as Kor'sarro Khan, Big E is Lysander and the Custodes are TH/SS terms. The bike group with Khan is an command squad with SS, melta, LC, etc. All in all, not a very competitive list due to the expensive HQs and toys...but I wanted to play with these guys so there they are. Thanks again.

Actually, they are all heretical scum in their original colors . The dreadclaw casualty is a Thousand Sons, the two guys lying in front of Khan are a World Eater and Iron Warrior. (Original TS Marines = Red/brass/gold, original World Eater = Blue/white, Iron Warriors haven't changed).

i sincerely hope you get paired with a chaos player fielding abaddon converted to horus! that would be epic! very good job on the display board and the army. tell the emperor he needs to trim his nails, btw.

The silver/bronze land raider looks really good.
Especially since it's easy to make a silver tank looks silly.

That's actually pink foam mounted on MDF. It's difficult to explain how that goes together with the velcro/MDF backing but I'll snap pics when I get back from the con. The scribework was done via hot foam cutter on pink foam.

Excellent work! I like how crisp and clean your paintjobs are, they look flawless. I also like the poses on your models here, they look dynamic and moving. I expect you'll get a lot of nice words about your work at adepticon, have fun!

Love it so much. I've wanted to make a pre-heresy army for quite some time. I love the Land Raiders, and just the general feel of the story you get.

My favourite part of it all? That you had enough money to buy a Dreadclaw for terrain! I love the commitment you've put into this. =D

I've seen this board in person and the pictures does not do it justice. The flame markers flicker so they look like they are on fire.
