I haven't seen many of these posted, not that I've been looking really hard... Anyhow, here's my libbydread:

The base dread is an Ironclad. I used a bunch of the plates from the venerable dread kit'; it comes with a ton of extra pieces that really let you spice up your other dreads. The left and right front plates and the shin plates are all from the venerable kit. Other than the hammer and the plates its a basic Iron clad.

For the hammer I first cut back the siege hammer cylinder. The first round I did cut it back and it made the hammer just stick out too far and it just looked goofy. After that I trimmed up a typhoon missile launcher to get my shape. I filed the missile points on the front down and stuck an assault grenade launcher chest piece from the Ironclad kit on the front of it. I cut it and sanded it down to make it flush. After that I stuck the non-missile side of a hunter killer missile in the other end to fill up that hole and make it look like its more than just a solid block of metal hammer. For the side pieces it's more pieces from the venerable dread kit to give it some flashy looking detail so its not just flat (also, had to cover a hole) then I just applied some green stuff to fill in around the neck, glued it in place with a long-ish pin to reinforce it and there it is, Force Weapon on a dreadnought.

That model is all kinds of sexy and looks exactly like how I imagine GW would make their libby dread. Fantastic work!

My previous army was ultramarines so I couldn't go with the blue no matter how much the fluff or 'eavy metal team says all librarians are ultramarines first or whatever. I just couldn't do it! I do really need to get some of those FW talons for my dreads. They're pretty much perfect.

Eh....The hammer looks wierd. If it was on a stick, it would be way cooler. Also, this really doesn't look like a librarian at all.

It needs way more books and purity seals, among other things, to really look like a librarian. Not enough extra bits for me. Nice try though...

I had a go the other day, still not finished but WIP.
I started with the venerable drednought kit, then added a magna grapple and force weapon on the right arm. Made them from an ork wrecking ball, a defiler leg and a black orc spear. I agree anout not wanting my BA dreds blue, so I stayed with blood red and lots of icons and purity seals. Bit OTT but then this is the grim darkness of 40K..

these are really cool! i wouldn't want it to be blue thou, that just makes it too different than the army, and with a model that size it should tie up the army together really nicely.

what fluff actually says they have to be blue? i've heard of that before, but wasn't sure exactly what its due to.

I really like the hammer on that first one, awesome work.

Well, in most codex chapters Librarians are blue so I guess it makes sense.

Are these something specific to the new Bloodangels codex ? I don't remember seeing them anywhere else.

I believe the Lib Dreads need pipes going into the head area (hoses, leads, wires, whatever). The normal marine Libs have them which is part of focusing their powers. Would allow them to stand out a fair bit more too.

The dreads above are amazing. Still, when I look at them they don't look "Libby" to me. Just norm Dread. I think they need more to identify who they are.

Currently collecting and painting Eldar from W40k.

Agreed. A staff would be enough to show libby status, but a cloak would be better. Just looking at tigurius should inspire you...Hammers are not very libby in the slightest.
