Nice stuff so far there chap, I feel this may be better in the blog section though. probably best to ask a mod for a move.
Back to the models though I gotta say I've been doing 40k for 10 odd years and never thought to put a design on the floor of a tank. Nice idea and consider it stolen.

Thank you sir, I may just ask a mod to move it...continue adding finished stuff to it I guess.
You are welcome to the idea of putting stuff on the floor. I painted it black and was like...huh, looks sorta blank...

You are deffinetly off to a good start. Id say honestly the only thing you really need is more brush time. Mostly what Im seeing is things that you get better at by just painting.
And I LOVE hurricane bolters. Seriously those just spell death to horde armies

all the green parts are dark angels base coat, then snot green, scorpion for the highlights and washed with thrakka. The silver and gold parts were black based and painted with boltgun and shining gold, then lightly drybrushed with mithril silver. The base was the chopped walnuts or whatever galeforce uses for their super coarse basing material washed with devlan mud.

I'm naming and themeing all the leaders/special characters after my friends IRL, lol...
Mike is crazy strong redneck that likes to hit stuff with this skull mace he has when he gets tipsy...and the dread has this "ick face" on the chainfist arm that Walter welded onto the wall in high school.

Hah, that's clever, if you play a game against them I'll bet they'd be hesitant to "kill themselves"
Anyway, back on topic, i really like that regular marine, his Armour is stunning.

Here is the assault termie squad. They are nearly complete on some newly bought terrain.
I was thinking that maybe they needed something. Like iconography or battle dmg. Gimme some thoughts.
