Right this is my first blog on this forum and I am doing a 1500 point Blood Angels army and the list is as follows:

Astorath the grim
Commander dante

5 Sanguinary guard, death masks, chapter banner, 2 infernus pistols
10 Tactical Marines, flamer, multi melta
10 Tactical marines, meltagun, missile launcher, power fist
5 Death company, power weapon, power fist, thunder hammer, hand flamer

Baal predator, heavy bolters, storm bolter

Thats the list and im happy with it but I would like your opinion on the scheme...

Scheme 1: mechrite red, blood red, blazing orange highlight
Scheme 2: Mechrite red, gryphonne wash, blood red highlight

looks good so far,i like scheme 2 better.try a little more than just 3 colors though.

I was thinking that..... What would you suggest to make it brighter?

after the wash try red gore the highlight that with blood red.that's what i did.

For my armour I use this method - Dragon Red primer, 2 coats ogryn flesh wash, blood red highlight, blazing orange highlight, baal red wash. Gives a nice shade of red.

I shall do a test of this (if you dont mind) and I shall add the red gore to the other model as suggested by jetjetex.

EDIT: is the dragon red primer like mechrite red?

It's similar, a touch brighter I would say closer to a blood red, but the ogryn wash helps to take the brightness down a little.
The baal wash helps to take away the orange of the highlights so that you end up with Blood Angels rather than Blood Oranges, an equally devoted chapter I'm sure just somehow not as cool.

You might wanna try to put down the models when you take the pictures. And I prefer the second scheme

Basecoat chaos black, paint mechnite red, wash badab black, drybrush 2 coats of blood red and finaly highlight with blazing orange.

I have found another way of painting them and its mechrite red, badab wash, 50/50 mechrite and blood on armour, blood red highlights and also I have done a death company tester so if you would like to see how they are done then please just ask. Also I am adding in the rest of my army in pictures and they will be based at some other point as im thinking of getting bases from back2base-ix or some sort of base that I will attempt to put together.....
