So I recently decided to build an Ork Fortress with the premise that it was going to be a converted imperial compound and with a little image in my head i started to sculpt and build it. Now this is my first piece of Ork Scenery. Im a converted from tau to ork and they fit my playing style a lot better. This is just the front portion of the compound or fortress I have started my first corner section. Im happy with how it has come out at the moment, but any comments or recommendation are surely appreciated. I put a meganob in front for scale.

The fortress looks a bit too dark, maybe bit brighter highlights here & there?
Also a few more Ork banners would look great

Looks great. What I think is missing is the overkill of trophies and rude signs and stuff that marks the real mighty ork warbosses. The amount of stuff is after all what orks use to measure status. And that fortress looks like belongs to someone bada**. I think it fits better in Mad Max than gorka morka, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it's already Grahams Number times more awesome than anything I could achieve.

I dunno. I think too many banners/bodies/trophies would make the whole thing too busy. Right now it looks great but it also will take a backseat to the miniatures when you use it.

The only thing I already noted in the gallery. Foam core makes for a bad basing material and warps. Maybe you can replace it with wood or reinforce it with plasicard?

Looks awesome! I'm wondering how you made the metal sheets with rivets (as opposed to the tin roof style corrugated cardboard). It looks wicked, but also like a lot of work.

Couple marines or imperial guards on poles should do the trick i think

I cut the metal sheets out of plastic card and then made the rivets out of plastic rod..... it kills the hands

Wow! I got lost in the wider shots, but those closeups blew my mind. The painting really does the details you've put on there justice. It really looks like a roughly ordered but still imposing pile of hastily bolted/welded/wedged together scrap.

So Ive been working on the structure to my Ork Fortress and Its huge flat out huge. So i designed it to be able to be a fortress for an apocalypse battle. Or I can simply have a battle within its walls. My cat has become very interested in it as well and enjoys taking refuge inside its walls. Im piecing together how the rest of it is gonna look detail wise. But this is a the structure so far. Also thanks for all of the positive comments and advice.

That cat looks seriously chilled.

In other news, that fort looks absolutely beastly. You could fit a miniature Ork Keep inside there n' all.

Looks awesome. Very good on the paint job and construction, the materials look realistic and the design is clearly orky.

Might I ask, what are the dimensions of this epic monster?

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

I realised that you were off your rocker when I saw the close-up of the water tower...but then again you'd have to be to make something made of more awesome than you can shake a stick at.

Yes, The size is 52" Wide and 56" long so a couple of vehicle turns to get across.

Actually I have given a couple of thoughts to have an HQ building, An Ammo Dump, A tank/killa factory, maybe a titan factory (don't know if that's been attempted). One things for sure is that they are all going to be on their own bases so i can remove and position them separately depending on scenarios so I have many options but any Ideas are welcome.
