I'll be broke on the first day of GenCon! I'll probably skip out on the terrain until I see how it plays.

I do really like the idea of modular card stock terrain like this. It's very easy to store and still very classy looking.

That looks worth the $60 they want.

Though I could be patient and buy the not-so-nightmare sized one they were telling us about.

There is a crew box scheduled for release in October named "The Bad Dreams" - odds are that is it. If they follow the release schedule of the other boxes, the single figures will be out circa November.

The source for these images is a thread on the Wyrd boards where one of the Malifaux designers details painting the figure.

Lord Chompy bits is a wonderful model, but I'm more fond of the Bayou Gremlins. They give me a reason to break out my raspy, cheezy and not at all authentic Cajun accent.

News from GenCon: The release for Terraclips terrain was postponed, as the prototype cardboard wasn't thick enough.

P picked up a couple of gangs and some of the merc girls. The game plays funky at first, and it grows on you.

The gear with the new book stuff is tits up, but I'm really starting to get a case of the buttocks on the whole, "Special edition" crap.

I want that gear and you don't want my cash? ugh... I'm still chomped on that gremlinette deal that sucked when I tried to get my info in.

Less special edition crap and more putting it in my pocket, please.

I'll even buy a couple of those 50 buck carboard cut outs if I can get me in on some of that there monster gear.

Other then my little peeve about the "Special Ed" deals, That new book and the new crews had me peeing in my pants to get in and get me a few more gangs up and runnin.

This game is really neat, and those stories that were in that first book really rocked. I'm hoping that the new crews can bring the heat just as well as some of those other freaks do.

All in all a great game, even if the sales campaign sucks.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Sadly, I was going to go online and buy mine over the weekend.
The universe conspired against me, and I did not get my Chompy... I never even had the chance to turn my computer last weekend.

I'll gladly sell you mine at an appropriate markup...

of course, "appropriate" would have to factor the LE status and so forth, so you might substitute the word "exorbitant" to represent the buyer perspective.

Y'know, I had no interest in this game, but the Colette and Kirai crews are tempting me... not to mention Chompy...

Speaking of which, I noticed that the special edition chompy is listed as only being available during convention season... it does not specifically say 2010 or gencon, does this mean they will be rereleasing it next year/at the next big convention?

All the LE stuff is one of the reasons that I love Malifaux so much. I want to be able to have models that not everyone has acess to...

Chompy & Miss pack (available for free, but only if you buy $100 MSRP in items) were said to only be available during GenCon weekend. You could get them in person or buy them via the online store ONLY.

@John.
Thanks but, ah... no.

In a way, I'm glad I missed it. It costs what a Land Raider does, I rarely ever get to play Malifaux anyway, and I'm not even sure I'd like the mechanics of the way it plays.

Of course, the "investor" in me (the guy who bought the $6 Iron Star chapbooks & managed to sell them at a huge mark-up - 1 for almost $90) laments the loss of investment/profit potential.
: )

wow this stuff all looks great. I wish I had the time and cash to get into it, but as it stands now I can barely keep up with 40k and fantasy alone :(

Ah yes, but then you realize that a Malifaux crew costs about the same as one box of troops for any GW product!

Edit: Check out the Warstore for good deals if your LGS doesn't stock them.

It's cheaper than a box of Terminators.

And it's metal.

lol@busty alyce's name. Funny that she seems less busty than the other models.

Actually I kinda like that model, what's its scale in comparison to 40k's Heroic scale?

Uh, the model is Rusty Alyce, not Busty Alyce. Anyway, I'm not sure about that one in particular, but the models in general are around the same size or maybe a tiny bit bigger, but much slimmer than 40k models.
