Wow, I had not seen pics of the Crusader! Soooooooo awesome and tempting, will have to seriously consider it later in the year (hopefully when you have production going, too!)

Edit: Argh, more awesome the more I look at it! The pics in your gallery with the different arms and such are killer! I have been looking for something to save towards that doesn't involve buying lots of more small models, when I already have so many to paint... this just may be it!

Edit2: I also just discovered this link: http://www.dreamforge-games.com/Leviathan%20101.pdf Great info

I also really love the build PDF's that you put up, really gives you an appreciation for the complexity of the model

are there any plans on any other awesome giant (but smaller) robots or are you just building out your "titan sized" line?

That fluff is killer. Ill definitely be following this.

A 15mm system for this could do quite well. The cost of the leviathans in 28mm will hinder people being able to assemble an army of them (though I do think they will sell well) but the smaller 15mm scale with its lower cost could very well be a sales monster.

Hell even a 6mm scale (think Battletech/Epic 40k size) might do well.

Now bring on the pre orders!!!!!!

this perfectly encapsulates my opinion as well, in 15mm scale I'd imagine getting several factions worth of warbands (the easiest way to introduce my mates to a new system).

Love the fluff and the models so far.

Any general idea on the 15mm size leviathans coming down the pipeline?

I'm right there with you guys on this point. In my opinion the 28mm scale is best suited for modelers, it provides a large canvas to do some incredible paint jobs. The reality of table top gaming is that 15mm is a FAR better scale for vehicle vs vehicle actions. It has allways been my plan to have a 15mm line. 6mm? perhaps????

So , YES... A very definite and resounding YES, all these will be made in 15mm as well as 28mm. (Assuming the 28mm scale sell well enough to finance the venture) We are going to lose some pose-abuility in the 15mm versions due to the part size I need to permanently affix some components but all the detail will remain. This more static design will drop the number of molds required so that I can offer them at a reasonable price.

Yes to this as well... The VR5 frame Mortis, Crusader, Gabriel, Azriel and Azazel are the equivalent of the WWII Panther and Tiger tanks, large with bug guns... Most all the other kits for 28mm will be smaller and less $$ to make, so less expensive to purchase.

Awesome, I agree totally. The 28mm will make an awesome display piece. Id gladly grab up a bunch in 15mm as well. I wouldnt worry about losing the poseability with the smaller scale, as it will be more about gaming than modeling. After all how much posing can you do with a Space Marine dreadnought or Tau battlesuit? Id be perfectly satisfied with a completely static pose, after all Im a Battletech player, and those things are static pose.

So far Im absolutely blown away by your stuff. Keep it up, Ill do what I can to spread it around to the folks I know, Id love to see this get some wide exposure. Someone needs to introduce the mini gaming world to something other than GW. PP has done a good job in the fantasy(ish) arena, now we need something more futuristic, and your stuff would be a great one to do it.

Just read through this, linked to earlier in the thread:

http://www.dreamforge-games.com/Leviathan%20Mortis%20Complete%20Instructions.pdf

Is there anything like this for the Crusader? (rather than the Mortis?) I'd love to see some resin pics of it like that document contains of the Mortis.

Edit: To answer my own question, it looks like "no", although there is tons of background posted here:

http://dreamforge-games.com/game.html

And if you click on "models" you can see the instructions that I linked to directly above, under Mortis. My final question would be, on the site it appears that the Crusader head is an available option to purchase with the Mortis- I think this would be great, as it's a small change but makes a huge difference in its' appearance. I will probably suggest this somewhere in the new DreamForge forum once I read through everything that's there (basically 1 new thread in each section for now).

Hmmm, a 15mm scale Crusader might be a nice (but supposedly expensive) alternative to the Dreadknight!

I have no idea what the size of the DK is.... a 15mm Crusader and Mortis will be about 4.25" to the top of the shoulder... Just a guestimate, but I would imagine the to be priced at $40 to $60 depending on what the print and mold costs are.

Wow, the technical information in that handout is great! It's really, really awesome to have such rich background material for such a young system. Looking forward to seeing what comes out for your smaller vehicles.

Man, I simply can't wait to get the 28mm version on the workbench!

Getting a selection of 15mm to use as dreads or whatever, that would be over the top!

Too bad no one has woke and smelled the coffee yet with Battletech. They would make a killing making it in 15mm, with 3"-6" 'dread' sized models for the different weight classes. Mmmmm.

I think Harmony Gold and a few other company’s own rights to much of the Battletech line. You would need to pay a licensing fee to use these designs, if the holders were willing to sell the license.

A truly fantastic kit! The details and poseability really appeal to me and the price is also quite nice for a model of that scale. The crusader is by far my favorite of the two as the skull helmet does not appeal to me that much.

Looking forward to other products you come out with!

Agreed on the leviathan...im chomping at the bit for one.

As far as big Battletech...the Mechwarrior clix game was that size, which was awesome, too bad the models sucked.

I don't think they own that much anymore, really. There's a metric ton of Battletech Mech designs and the 'Unseen' is maybe a doze, and some of these aren't under the HG license anyway, so I think they've gotten them back. Sadly, the ones that are are very iconic designs for BT.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

The upcoming preorder is for the 28mm Leviathans, not the 15mm...and hopefully they open sooner than Apr 2nd.

The thing is, it sounds like the molds for the mortis are done, and the crusader is underway... 15mm is going to be a ways off, yet.

Personally, I would love some details on the game rules. If I were to get two (later this year, not ready to preorder yet) would I be able to play a match, 1 against the other?

I know, "gimme gimme gimme", but you put up so much great stuff that I can't help but want for more . Keep up the great work!

You are correct; the 15mm version is likely three months away. Profits made from the 28mm Leviathan will be re-invested to complete the line of 28mm Leviathans (VR5 Frame, Gabriel, Azriel and Azazel) and start the 15mm line. The speed at which I can get the new models in production directly relate to the success of the first release, Mortis and Crusader 28mm.

As far as the rules go, they are pre-beta and being discussed and refined on my forum.
You may want to check this out.

Good timing on the question, I just got off the phone with my caster five minuets ago.

Unfortunately I do not have the first articles yet. They got sidelined by a job for Nike shoes, thats the down side of working with a big company. Looks like it will be one more week than expected before I have the first casts... so two weeks from today is the best guess.

I will make an announcement with pics the day I receive them.

I drop crazy money on this hobby, and I gotta say, I'm gonna take a pass on this.

I liked it better when it was a GW titan knock-off. Looking back GW was right to shut you guys down, and years later, this is what you came up with?

You'd have been better of making knock-off titan parts, like add-on arm-guns or heads, like all the eldar titan heads flooding ebay.

I respect the large spider walker robot you made back in the day, but this doesn't look like anything I'd wanna own.

It's not rude or offensive. It's my opinion. Yikes, this place hasn't changed at all since I left...

This is a marginal resin kit at best. Although I'll go to bat for them and say I don't think the price is over the top; in fact, it's very reasonably priced if you inclined to buy one.
