I was wondering the same thing, though i must say i dont know how robust it would be, because models get handled lots more than the bases do.... but id love to see the results of someone trying it

Well I think if it was varnished before priming that would help. I may try it at some point and will let you all know the result.

I'm thinking Laval bases. Paint the base orange, red and yellow randomly, slopping this stuff on thick to get some decent cracks to let the 'lava' show through and then drybrushing it black.
