Yeah I don't know. I am just at a loss with this. If you are worried about the boss dying then add in Grotsnik. If not then just keep the painboy.

I personally don't like the green tide. Its just too time consuming to play and use, especially in a tournament setting.

But ultimately its your army and your choice. If you feel you can swing the time constraint then go for it.

I have a few reasons I like the GTF:

1. Everyone gears up to kill MEQ, Tanks and Knights which means they aren't packing Anti-Horde.

2. It is the only thing I have fielded that makes my opponents stop and say, "What am I going to do about that?"

3. I own 100 Orks and a Footslogging Warboss.

4. Forge The Narrative says it is one of the few competitive options.

5. What is more Orky than Orks?

6. When I think of an Ork Army I think of a Horde.

What happens when you hit the time limit?

You got that right.

A good point
3. I own 100 Orks and a Footslogging Warboss.
Why not?
4. Forge The Narrative says it is one of the few competitive options.
Not sure what that is, but I don't really think there is only a few competitive option out there. A good tactician is still going to do things right with what they have.

Big load Booms!
6. When I think of an Ork Army I think of a Horde.
I agree to an extent. Of course this is taking that and multiplying it by 100.

Games over. Usually the person that went second gets his last turn inmost tourneys I have been to. If you can move them fast then you should be ok. Know what you are going to do when he is playing that way your turn you have everything planned so all you have to do is act.

So we had a prep tournament @ Frontline Games in Clarksville Tn. I went 2 and 1 and going into the last round I was 2 out of 10, and gave the #1 guy his best game, but still lost. I'm not sure if I ended up being 3-5. I did a lot better than I expect.

The fact that the opponents gear up for AV and Armor really helped me. To an Ork a Lascannon is basically the same as a Bolter. Top table guy was the only one that knew to debuff my Green Tide and charge multiple units into it.

I am going to make a few small changes and add in a SAG.

Can the Warboss of the Green Tide Formation Choose his Warlord Trait from the Rule Book and if so does he get a reroll on the chart?
Or does he have to roll in the Ghazkhul Supplement?

When I finally get to run the tide, should be in about a week, I'm gonna try going more all out with the tide. At this point I'm thinking 200 boyz, warboss, kff big mek w/ da finkin cap (infiltrating a 200 boyz blob would be AMAZING!), painboy, and maybe a weirdboy. Weirdboy would be for the very off chance I get hammerhand and actually get to cast it on the boyz blob. The formation would be my secondary detachment, and I would have just a normal cad for the primary.

Question, can you take more than the warboss for the formation as far as HQ's go?

The formation is 1Warboss and 10 Boyz Squads. Each squad may take normal options to include more Boyz and Toyz.

A CAD only allows 2 HQ so you will have to drop 1.

Also for WAAAGH!!! every turn your Warboss has to be the Warlord.

Thanks. Guess no weirdboy then.
