To be fair it's a lot easier to get a company to commit to a bulk discount when you've got some idea how much shipping you can offer them.

So he may well have launched with the best rates he could get, and be re-negotiating as more orders to a particular destination came in

I guess... But they've only really got 7 backers so far.

But. maybe I'm being to harsh.

Hmm maybe they just launched too soon (as you say 7 backers does not seem enough to be re-negociating with)

I guess that could be the case, but in my mind it raises the question of what they would have done if this kickstarter was wildly sucessful instead of struggling.

What bothers me is the drastic change in shipping pricing, in most instances their shipping reduction is greater then 50%.

Believe me, I can understand your skepticism and jumping to conclusions on my shipping rates and buffering expense. But I assure you that is not the case. Certainly you have no reason to believe me, other than I pride myself as an ethical business man.

I agree, launching before shipping prices were sorted was a bit of an oversight. But that was part of the reason we launched this kickstarter. We wanted to get feed back from the community, hammer out any kinks and solidify our back end logistics. It just so happened that shipping prices became the first and immediate hurdle.

I may be misinterpreting your comments, so I apologize ahead of time if that is the case. But, I approached the regional reps to negotiate a lower shipping rate so that I could establish sales and backers. It was not because I had seven backers, and you're right seven is not enough to negotiate with. It was a discussion of our company, our goals, and our unwillingness to hide shipping cost in product cost (and vice versa) that allowed us to negotiate so aggressively. In fact, it was the courier that recommended I hide cost of shipping in my products, which I do not feel is ethical. I believe customers should know how much they're paying and for what specifically.

So I respect your right to remain skeptical and fearing that I may be taking advantage of you as the consumer. Lord knows that happens to us from big name companies all the time and unfortunately has become the standard of business in this hobby. But that is why I started this. We were sick and tired of the BS and created a product at a fair cost and wish to share that with all of you.

Please respond with replies, I would love to address them and potentially use them as ways we can improve.
