Movement cheat: In tourny first warning, if persistent call up TO, Random Pick ups for fun, Meh its half an inch, Against people i know who should know better, smack em up side the head with a whippy stick.

Shady spell rolls: First offense warning, second time stop him before anything else and walk him through like a 5 year old.

Tank Squadron movement cheat: Eh?

Hidden dice: Immediately stop him and confront. there is no excuse for this crap.

Doesn't share information: Ask to see his book and what he is casting or ask for the name and read through it. he shouldn't have to explain everything but he does have to give you a chance to figure it out you self

Shady dice: Confront him that drop "rolling" is bullgak and move on. if he continues pack up and walk away. not much to be done in a Tourny.

My advice is to call them out on it immediately after its done. Most people have a healthy sense of shame when it comes to cheating, and if you call them out on it once, they won't do it again.

Its also possible that someone might not actually know they are cheating.

I was playing a guy who was trying to deepstrike his termies next to my warriors for an assault for next turn but the problem was he had a drop pod right near my necron warriors so the only space he could have placed them was inbetween the drop pod and the warriors. He placed his model sitting on the door of the drop pod and didn't need to roll for scatter (drop pod had tracking beacon or w/e) but when he placed the rest in the flower position he was either touching my warriors base to base which would have been a misshap or so he could stay the 1" away he had moved a termie half way inside the drop pod trying to claim that it didn't count for mishap (i quickly showed him the rule where it did count) to which he gave a big huff about so i gave him a chance to replace them (even if this was a tourny game). He then measured the distance of the locater beacon from the end of the blown hatch of the drop pod gaining an extra several inches in scatter proof distance. I pointed out how he was trying to "have his cake and eat it too" but let him have his distance but I let him knew he was trying to cheat me. Haven't seen him around since then.

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.

I have seen every manner of cheat possible from the lowest, most insecure people you can imagine. The only thing I know about dealing with them is everyone does it, and sometimes it's fun to do the same better.

My favorite is the loads of dice trick where some rolls like 50 dice and starts moving out the misses quickly, changing some of the results along the way. It's like a shell game. I can usually convert a 1 to a 6 by passing my hand over it and up other scores as well.

Of course, i only do that when i know the other side has become creative. Fire with fire ftw

I pay attention to see if it is an actual attempt to cheat or an oversight/lack of knowledge. if it is something like that, I educate the player and explain why they need to be more careful.
If it is an actual attempt to cheat, I dont andle it at all. Likely I may finish the game usually just throwing it to end it and ont play them again.
Ifit is in a tourney or something like that where it matters and I am unable to just not play them, I call them on the cheat and if need be, let the TO know. Once had a guy at a tourney who tried to cheat me and since the TO was lenient and the cheat spent buckets of money, the TO ruled for us to "roll off" on it. When the cheat saw me roll a 6, he refused to roll and tried to override the TO. Told him to either do as the TO said or stop playing and take the loss in a forfiet. he stopped playing and even then tried to cheat and say he won. Luckily, there was plenty of witnesses tolet the TO know the truth. Havnt seen this cat at a tourney since and got plenty of attaboys from the other players for standing up to him.
Ya gotta stand up to bullys whether they be cheaters on the table or people on a forum. What is right is right regardless of who supports them or how badly they speak of you.

You just said yourself, that you should stand up to cheaters, still you only stand up on tourneys? It matters anywhere, not only at tourneys. If you don't want to play with cheaters, likely your whole gaming community doesn't want to, so you really shpould do them the courtesy to point it out openly (that the guy cheated). It's easier in the act then after game, it's just gossip then.

Rules Lawyers who don't verify with the Rulebook. #1 offender in my book. Sometimes it's just a miss understanding. But they have to realize we had an edition change most of the rules have changed without realizing it.

Zsolt, re-reading my post, I think I wasnt clear. My fault. I DO point it out in normal games after making sure of it. Usually, they will of course deny it. What I meant by "I dont deal with it" is that I'm not going to do more than point it out. To me, it is a game and not worth fighting over. A knock down dragout in the shop will only get me kicked out and I find it more mature to point it out and hope they will do the right thing and stop. I address it but dont "handle it"in those cases. I see m as 2 seperate actions.

The extra 1/2 inch in infantry movement doesn't bother me too much. Its when they get an extra inch or two in movement in vehicles that it comes out. Vehicle moves 8 inches, I ask them how far it moved, they reply 6 inches so that it can fire at full balistics with whatever weapon it has, instead of snap shooting or not being able to fire blast/template.
