You're more likely to see Tiers for 'casters than anything else.

People will say "This caster is best for tournaments" or whatever.

Lich2 and Haley2 come to mind.

The nice thing is that they tend to come from different factions.

Indeed. Draws are impossible unless a judge calls dice down in a tournament and you are equally matched on the board.

Or you can each be killed by the same blast. For most casual games if the caster dies the game is over. If both die at the same time most of my friends would call it a draw.

Except iirc blast damage is not simultaneous. You fully resolve the damage against one model before resolving it against the next.

No, I'm pretty sure that AoE damage is simultaneous.

Well then one of my previous opponents cheated me... Then again he's known for shoddy behaviour, I still beat him, just would have been over a turn sooner.
