Yeah, the monopose bad guys really kill this for me. If they had more diversity I would be on board, but right now it looks like $200+ dollars just to get the hero figures.
The Daryl exclusive figure looks like all they did was swap his knife for a hatchet. It looks like the same pose and outfit.
It also hurts that some of the desirable figures are only going to be available if the kickstarter makes it stretch goals
Aeneades wrote: Daryl had also grown his hair between the two sculpts.
Has he? The model is facing a different direction, I think that's just a trick of the angle. Yeah...that variant Daryl...."here, have an exclusive! Same exact model but with a hatchet!! Everyone needs multiple Daryl models!!" Seriously?!
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

They mentioned in a post in the comments that he has longer hair styled after his season 3+ appearance for the kickstart exclusive.
Edit: this was also mentioned in update 3. He also has different outfit on -
Something that has been a bit confusing is what the Exclusive Hunter Daryl brings to the table. Is he just a mini variant that swaps out the weapon? No way! For the sculpt, this version of Daryl has been modeled on the character’s persona from Seasons 3 and 4, complete with longer hair, angel wing vest, and hatchet (from AMC’s promo shoot). The regular version of Daryl is modeled on the Season 1 appearance of the character. This Exclusive Hunter Daryl also comes with three Survivor cards that allow you to replace three cards from his deck with three that are specific to his Seasons 3 and 4 persona, giving him very different Actions. And with the five plastic 3D tokens (representing his crossbow bolts), this exclusive actually includes six minis!

And in that pose, with the cross bow on his back, the winged vest is going to be mostly covered.
Very stupid design decision.
Now maybe they are just lazy and switched out the knife for an ax and rotated the view rather than develop a new 3d render even though they eventually intend to do so. If that is the case, they should state it.
And sorry, but including 5 crossbow tokens, even in 3d plastic, does NOT equate to 6 minis.
That is just silly.

Every time a terrorist dies a Paratrooper gets his wings.

Because there is not enough value to the pledge levels and there was very little chance of even completing the base game with stretch goals. They used early stretch goals to add in more zombies and 'rivals' (all in the same damned poses) instead of filling in the characters they needed. Base pledge includes an expansion (you can't get just the base game with figures) and that expansion was the least liked of two offered.
Several other reasons too.

Ah cheers. The lack of value and forced expansion was there from the start I thought, so was thinking something else happened that i'd missed for such a single day drop, but i guess the realisation hit that this wasn't going to gain the value via stretch goals and the leavers snowballed.

Looks like they've redesigned the tiers completely. I expect some fluctuation in funding as things get updated and pledges moving around. Also not sure what they are doing about stretch goals, since some of those appear to now be part of the retail set.
From its inception, THE WALKING DEAD: NO SANCTUARY has not been just another game about killing the undead. It has always been about crafting a play experience that reflects the emotional connection we have with the characters and situations reflected on the show. We are huge believers in Adam and Brady Sadler as designers, our internal team of developers, the craftsmanship of our sculpts, The Walking Dead as a property, Kickstarter as a platform, and the game itself.
With that and taking into consideration all of the ideas and suggestions from you, the backing community, we have regrouped and are excited to offer up a significantly restructured campaign. Please bear with us as the pledge tiers and all visuals are modified in the coming hours. For now, you can find the restructured offerings below. Again, we thank you for your support, valuable suggestions, and genuine excitement for THE WALKING DEAD: NO SANCTUARY.
Looks like Crypto *finally* gave us something worth backing! Both the $75 and $115 EB levels give us the eight characters on the box. The $115 EB also includes both expansions.
The Bradley Twins, the designers of WDNS, have worked on several games for FFG, including Descent and Gears of War.
Hopefully, the miniatures will turn out well. I passed on Mantic's WD partially because I didn't like the proportions of the mini's, and Mantic's fulfillment of Dungeon Saga.
EDIT: Dig up a "gory" picture of a mini you painted and post it in the #artweclever Twitter account to unlock a social stretch goal!
Tanks for the Idea - We know there are artists among you and we want you to share your amazing work with the world. We only need 5 Twitter posts with the hashtag #artweclever to unlock, but they must be truly gorgeous (or gory) pieces (4 to go!)

Those resin masters are not very detailed. I worry about what the plastics will look like.
Michone's sword in plastic is going to get bendy. I suspect faces will be even less detailed than the above resin masters, and that is not a good thing at all.

The ghostbusters minis from the first game were somewhat underwhelming also, particularly compared to CMON's recent offerings. I'm not sure if they upped their game for the 2nd one, but this doesnt leave me super confident.

That was due to a couple issues. It was partly due to the details in the 3d model not being as deep or done well. The sculptor they used was new. I don't know if that resolved with the second campaign since I haven't seen those. It is also due to the manufacturer they used. I had thought I heard they had a different manufacturer for the this one than the Ghostbusters one but I could be wrong on that.

Regardless of any changes they have made, the resin masters they are showing have soft detail, that does not bode well for decent plastics.

That is valid and true. I unfortunately haven't seen them and GenCon isn't until next week when I would be able to see them. I can't tell from the pictures if they are just bad details, bad pictures or painting unfortunately.

Lemme see if I can get a few words from Anne. In a PM she sent me, she *really* liked these resin masters, and seemed to be on a tight schedule for painting the mini's.
EDIT: Copypasta from BGG. I figure if a Reaper staff painter and AMC are good with it, I might as well be!
Pashmina wrote:Hi! Thanks everyone!
Regarding the quality of the figures, the ones I painted were resin masters. I haven't personally seen the final figures material in person, but I think they will be really good. Particularly, because AMC was overseeing the likeness factor so heavily on the master sculpts. I can't imagine they would go through all that effort to release a final product that wasn't up to par.
I do wish I had had abit more time for painting (2 weeks for 13 figures -marathon!) and was better at photography . And in retrospect I should have photographed before starting as well to share more of the process. I think the before shots would assuage peoples' concerns.
The clear bases don't come with the game, I made them separately as I found in the course of painting some of the duplicates were to be given to the actors. I was afraid with the masters being so delicate they would break on them. I seriously was over the moon at the picture with them!
One thing I really liked about these miniatures were the more realistic proportions. Yes, it is more challenging to paint faces (and eyes under hat brims, it's all about the hats!), that are smaller but the overall feel of the figure is more like painting a small sculpture, if that makes any sense. Stephan did a fantastic job with these figures. My painting skills don't do enough justice to his work.
I do like Mantic's figures that portray the characters from the graphic novels as well and I think for Walking Dead fans who are into both the show and the graphic novels, these are great compliments to have. Having read the graphic novels, the show is more like an alternate universe setting.

See if she has any pictures of them unpainted. That may help. She is a great painter, no doubt about it. But her 'liking' the masters does not give me an idea of how detailed they are. I want pictures.

Jake, I saw her mention yesterday that she regrets not taking pictures of them unpainted. So, I think that if anyone has pics of them unpainted, it would be Cryptozoic themselves.

Two more SG's to unlock, and this social media goal has been unlocked!
New “Made to Suffer” social media campaign!
Our last social media campaign went so well that we’d like to do another one! If you successfully complete it, you’ll unlock the “Made to Suffer” Scenario for Base Game tier and above backers! Based on the Season 3 episode of the same name, the Scenario has you taking on Walkers, hostile members of the living, and even the recently unlocked Governor himself. This is your chance to recreate a turning point in the series, as the survivors from the prison and Woodbury declare war on each other while the Governor has a pivotal encounter with Michonne. This Kickstarter Exclusive Scenario includes four double-sided map tiles, 1 Woodbury Rival Board, 1 Governor Nemesis Board and 10 Event Cards!
We've unlocked about as much KS-exclusive content as one of the expansion sets. * 4+ survivor miniatures / variants
* 5 rivals (vs. 10 in expansion)
* 10 zombies
* 4 game tiles
* plus the Vision of Lori NPC figure.

Just noticed the Govenor is now included, as well as Morgan and Sasha
Spoiler:
$115 for 125 figures, with 100 of them being duplicate mooks isn't ideal, but getting that many of the characters 20+ from anyone else in metal or resin is going to cost me more than a $100 anyways.
It must be wierd, but cool to hold a miniature version of yourself.

I'll see if there are any unpainted masters floating around the office when I go in Wednesday for playtesting. If I am allowed to post pics of them, I will.
The 3D sculptor for all of these did a ton of work on Kingdom Death, so I can at least assure you they are far better than the GB stuff from last year.
