They look nice, but I have always thought of Great swords as a bit more flambouyant with stronger colours and stuff. The provinces of the Empire all have their distinct colours right? that would be a good way to give them more character and tie the whole army together (dont remember if Reiklanders have red and white as their colours).
On the other hand , these models look very warlike and down to business with those earthy colours mixed with metal. If you want to make these as break from your VC army (wich I imagine to be done in more sharp and gothic colours) this is a good way to go.
And the paintjob is very well done IMO, perhaps a bit low on detail, but the ones you have (like the face) look good.

The Reiklands uniform is mainly a whitey, parchment looking colour, with a little bit of red mixed in. But I wanted to make them look more dark and gothic, as I'm too much of a fan of all the bright colours and what not.

However, now that you mention it I might try giving red feathers a go and see how that looks..

Thank you for your reply and advice

The armour looks very,very good!
However, I think they need a little more... poof? Something to really make them look ''elite''.

Perhaps a wash over the armor to pick out the detail?

I've already put a black wash over the entire model.

What would you recommend for the litttle more poof? Lol.

PErhaps then highlighting up the metal? I am unsure which metal you have there but building it up from say Boltgun metal to Mithril or whatever the GW equivalent is these days on the raised edges.

Yeah that sounds good, I'll give it a go. Thanks

I think the poof might be a colour or two. to paint one of the arms a strong red or other contrasting colour would maybe be enough, perhaps blue to tie it with the feather in the hat (personally I dont bother with fluff colours, but white and blue is Middenheims colours). Those jackets and pants are also easy to paint in a striped pattern.
