I got my dice yesterday ( and then spent far too long rolling them until they'd all scored a 6 but anyway..) and lots of other people are starting to get theirs too.

Oh goodie, maybe I'll get my duellists and merchants today or tomorrow.

Hopefuly the PDF documents won't be too far behind ^_^

Mine turned up first thing, along with my counter sets.

I'm expecting my rulebook today. I saw it was sent on Tuesday, and it was coming 2nd day air.

No preordering for me. Wife on maternity leave, so she would get to the post before I did and then there would be awkward questions about contents of mysterious (and heavy) box and how much did it cost etc etc (for some reason, this doesn't work the other way round when she gets clothes delivered via mail order). Anyway, I'm a patient man and can wait until Saturday.

The way my wife spends, I look downright miserly, so she knows better to raise a stink with me. We both have our hobbies, so it's not really an issue with us.

My brothers, on the other hand, need to keep a "black budget" to buy anything they want. I have it relatively good.

Mine says dispatched, hoping that I will get it before the 10th, but won't go in to play any games, I don't want sweaty ham-hands all over my book when I'm the only one who bothered to pre-order it.

Exactly, I'm just going to read it at home, especially since I got that collectors edition.

Considering that most GW stores and FLGS's have had their copy out on display for about a month now, i doubt they will want to see "your copy" that bad.

They might, since the in-store copies are in such bad shape, you'd think they were 400 year old manuscripts written in olde englishe where they add e's to everything, like "Ye olde fhooting phafe" (note the old school f for s too )

The one store copy can only really be used for one game at a time, however.

And, as some others have said, most store copies, including mine, is in pretty bad shape. It's been dropped several times, stepped on, pages ripped...it goes on.

Illegal digital copy has been available for a while already. However, asking or encouraging piracy should be against any forum's policy.

I received my Rulebook, Magic Cards and Empire Civilians today.

I received my Collector's book today. It is quite the tome.

I guess I missed the part about Each lore having an attribute. There's definitely perks out there for each one. With the way the spells are structured, with powered up levels and such, I can see the .pdfs completely overhauling the army based lores out there.

In the two page battle scene at the beginning of the book, what are those floating tower things? They look Empire-ish.

Edit: It was late in the mail, and I had to go to the post office to pick it up because they fethed up.

It's huge, and I love the magic cards.

Got my rulebook at the store today! The owners said they were getting a shipment in today. A buddy of mine and I were hoping it might be something new to add to their fairly poor selection of models. Nothing exciting models-wise, but then I was blown away as my friend pointed out the new rulebook to me.

As linked in the other thread attracting some interest on the N & R board the FAQS for this edition are up.

GW have also added tacticas for all/most ( yeah yeah... dogs of war, chaos dwarf, kislev blah blah etc etc ) of the armies here.

All the Legion minies that I ordered arrived today as well, funny how the amount of money that I saved from not buying anything 8th Ed related has allowed me to practically build an entire army from scratch for another game system!

Do'h, should have had it delievered to home, sounds like i could have had it to read tonight before going out, oh well, treck into town tomorrow to pick this up. Looking forward to a good read through. Every time i've wanted to look at the store copy it's been used or someone else was reading it.

Hmm, those two duellists were both sculpted and cast in 2009, unlike the merchant and scribe.

Its relevance is explained on the post that you quoted, by stopping my patronage of an overpriced and (IMO) inferior rules system has allowed me to expand my collection on another one and I just found it "ironic" of sorts that the miniatures I ordered and the rulebook that I would have ordered otherwise arrived in the same day...

yep... good thing it was just a statement and not a request for a link or copy. thanks for clarifying the rules to the new folk.

My beastmen got kicked in the ass in the FAQ when they asked about Stone of Spite...it DOESN'T destroy one use only magic items and such like scrolls....QQ.

Though, they finally did give Khazrak Primal Fury.
