Since starting hordes a couple of years ago, ive regretted not having a khador army ever since, so now that ive gotten rid of my skorne this is my chance.

I dont really know much about the khador background other than that theyre russians with wizards and robots, which is all i really need to know. Im interested in doing a fairly mutant blood-drenched theme based around the Butcher warcaster. Ive decided to build my manhunters, widowmakers and shocktroopers from bits i have at hand, both because its cheaper and the manhunter/widowmaker models suck the big one. Also gives me more control over the feel of the army.

Im thinking pallid orange skin and sky blue armour, with purples as shading for both + rusty rust. But I dunno, ill have to try it out, maybe ill switch around the armour and skin.

anyway, heres my countsas shocktroopers - black reach termies, chaos warrior arms + plasticard and gubbins
they still kinda look like epic space wolf termies...but, whatevs, close enough

thought id save myself a bit of cash and have some fun making a kodiak warjack today. the basis for the torso was a $9 toy robot from kmart, the legs are from a crappy WoW orc keychain i cut in half, then I just puttied both to crappery and added armour. pretty fun, just like building ork stuff.

still WIP, i cant figure out how to do the dang head!

so I bought one of the plastic warjacks kits for my 2nd jack...and standing next to the kodiak hes looking a little immasculated it seems I overestimated how beefcake jacks should be (only seen them in pics on the net).

+edit+
i magnetised all the warjack arms and bulked up the waist and torso, also started on the head for the kodiak...needs detailing though like crazy

Fine work. I think the two jacks look good together, no problem with the scale at all.

did a testrun of the colours on this shocktrooper

turned out to be a pretty bad model to test on since it doesnt have any skin or cloth...but whatevs.

looks a bit boring, but i think it should look alright with more black sections to balance it out

- need to do that aqua metal weathering.

- maybe big freehand khador runes on the sheilds?

I tested out the skin on the manhunter...wasnt originally planning on such zombie colours, but it just works with orange...and I wanted them to be an 'evil' army anyway.

Wow, those shocktroopers look great!

Any chance you might try kitbashing a few 'jacks that are similarly improved? The spindly legs vs. torso are the worst part of Warmachine gis IMO- if someone could do a version that's beefed up it would be tres awesome.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

cheers mate,

the shocktrooper was undercoated white, the orange sections given 2 light washes of bleached bone and some kinda orange, then just a wash of pure orange, then leviathan purple wash in the recesses. the metals are just washed boltgun metal, then snakebite leather really lightly in parts, then pp armour wash + black wash. then i chuck a wash of aqua + armour wash in select recesses, then a light wash of aqua over the top. the black bits are just washed black, then i use a modelling knife to scrape the edges so the white undercoat comes out - lazy lazy highlighting

painted the leader MoW and took a shot of the whole bunch + WIP juggy/destroyer

out of frustration at not being able to play against painted models, I quickly painted up my mate Danny's legion models last night.
Theyre really really quick and nasty washjobs - took me an hour all up to paint the lot. Just wanted tabletop standard so im not fighting against bare metal all the time.

came home rightiously drunk last night with a skerrick of creative juices left in me, so it looks like I painted up the carnivean. Theres a bit of a mental gap there, but suffice to say I woke up and it was painted:

I don't know if I could ever black out and still achieve a result that awesome. That could very well be the best part of this thread so far.

Awesome conversions. Your Khador still remind me of 40k a bit, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
