If i fire a great cannon at a plague furnace, and hit it, what happens??
Do I:
a) Roll to wound both furnace and plague priest (as its a ridden "monster" it hits both) and then mutliply into D6 wounds?
or
b) randomise netween furnace and rider, then roll to wound and multipl to D6 wounds?
[same as above for seer and bell]
I've been doing a) same as wou would for hitting a dragon and rider in this new edition but the skaven machines are unique so i just wanted a bit of clarification.

They count as a ridden monster, so (unfortunately for us skaven players) you hit both

I thought those 2 units were 'Unique' and followed their own rules.

they are considered unique for their "type". However, I believe (i dont have my book with me at work) that the skaven book describes them as being treated as ridden monsters and follow all such rules. If i am wrong however, i would be delighted

The skaven rulebook describes the screaming bell/plague furnace as a mount , not a ridden monster. As goes further to describes that when being shot at during the shooting phase to randomize hits and even gives full rules for doing so.
My feeling is with specfic overiding general, them being unquie unit type, as well as not being contradicted/changed in the faq you would still randomize.
But thats just my two cents...

IIRC, you don't want to be ringing the bell!

Vexxnoir is correct. Neither the Bell nor the Furnace are Monstrous Mounts. They are Unique units, and so follow their own rules for being shot at. Another thing to remember, is that they are also not Warmachines, so do not auto-fail all characteristic tests (like from Dwellers Below).
