First off, thanks for checking this out! Please leave a comment if you like/dislike anything! Im curious as to what you all have to say. Anyways, I know there is another Mentor Legion blog here and that only just got me going more on my army. This is my first blog and I thought I would track the progress of my Mentors with one, so im excited to see how this all works out for me.

So the army I am building is based more so off of sternguard as the Elite Cadre with Nisk Ran-Thawll as a proxy Kantor and so far so good! With one play test out of the way playing against another marine army, they held their own pretty well, ended up getting a tie but a victory in its own with the performance from the army.

I also plan on keeping this updated as the army takes shape and is painted, which with the rich color sceme I think this will be a great looking army to see on the table once completed!

So without anymore waiting, here they are!

Good ol' Nisk! An old favourite.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

They look very good. The white is crisp and you have put a good amount of effort into the details. I like your combi weapons, especially the combi-flamers.

Thanks! I figured the way I see it, the Mentor Legion are a very tactical; so having camo on a forward observing tank would be smart. The colors were kinda just thrown togeather and hoped for the best.

And thank you as well, I do like how my white turned out, I wasn't sure at first but it grew on me.

Here are some thoughts I have for my army, mainly my tanks. In the list I'm using two razorbacks and two preds as well as a rhino. Now I really like how my command rhino came out, but keep the camo for all of my tanks? I'm split on the idea, as I want to show off the colors of the army, on the other hand... The camo actually looks decent on space marine tanks. Another note I'm adding is that the side doors are going to be white with chapter symbol, to keep it in spirits of the chapter and the space marine pride in their colors.

One more thing, I'm using a similar system for ranks in the codex, just a slight change that's all.

Green helmet- Cadre
Green w/ white stripe- Elite Cadre
Green w/ red stripe- Cadre Sergeant
White w/ red stripe- Elite Cadre Sergeant

I think you should do camo, we definitely don't see enough SM tanks in camo. But, like you said, keep the side doors in chapter colours, possibly any roof hatches as well?

+++Update+++

Well, sorry for not updating in awhile, I have been busy with work and such. But besides painting I was able to get some games in with my Mentors.

Out of four games, I have won three of them and tied one. Overall I think it is a good start for my Mentors. Also I will have some pictures up soon, not tonight but maybe tomorrow of some more mentor progress. This is just a quick "hey, I still have not forgotten about them!" post.

I figured its been to long and I found some pics of my mentor legion that I havent had on here. I wish I could update with more pictures of what I have done, but I am currently deployed. In the battle picture, I am playing both templar and mentor legion against my friends, the battle was tough and we all learned a lot that game. I am also debating about buying a small paint set while I am here and buy some minis to paint up, but not to sure....

Mostly, on my phone.

Great to see another Mentor Legion blogging away! I'm likewise fnding running Kantor/Stern rather succesful - it's tried and tested I know, but that works for me. The white's coming along nicely, I like the brown tones in the shadowing. If you're free handing's that good, why not go all the way back to the classic owl insignia? Embrace the Owl!
