Hey! Thanks for stopping by.

This here is a P&M blog dedicated to my fledgling Tau army. I'm not so much planning on using this army in competition play much so I figured I'd just have a little fun with it and try some new things. I'm not terribly stuck on the more traditional Tau schemes that GW has created, so I dreamed up a new one. What I came up with is a industrial theme, one which I hope is fairly original. Like I said, I'm not stuck on the usual Tau look, so please don't be all like "Oh sdf, your Tau are not the right colors derp derp" and we will get along fine .

All I have today is my first couple of battlesuits, one of which is still a WIP. The one on the flying base was given to me as a gift last year and the other two were purchased used at a FLGS. Who ever the previous owner of the two used models was, clearly didn't have much imagination as they were both standing straight up, arms and head pointing straight forward and gobs of glue slopped everywhere. The model with the fusion gun and shield generator was fairly successfully rehabilitated, but there was little to do for the other.

I know the pics aren't ideal, my house isn't overly bright. If this blog receives a decent amount of views and comments, I'll whip up a light box asap though.

Anyway, enough talk. I hope you enjoy what's here for now. My next move will be to finish that last battlesuit and order up a couple of shield drones. After that I'll grab a Piranha or two and move on from there. Eventually, I hope to crest 2000 points with this project so I'll be around for a while.

Enjoy, and please Comment and stuff!

I actually like the scheme a lot, too! A nice, different look for Tau . As a former Tau player, they still give me the warm and fuzzies... especially when they're not done in bright, anime-like colors, but a more realistic scheme that a military force would be likely to take!

Love them!

Just a suggestion, but drybrush the edges of the armour. It makes it look beat up.

Hmm... I've never really been a fan of the Tau: partially the design and moreso, the schemes just didn't work for me. I actually like your take on them.

And yea, drybrush for sure for some weathering on your machines. Make 'em look like they haven't just rolled out of the factory.

I can't wait to see some of the troops in this scheme! Keep it coming!

Hey friends,

Thanks for the comments, glad I'm not the only one who likes his Tau a little spicy. As for beating them up a bit, once I track down some more suitable lighting conditions, I think you'll find them to be a little rougher. I'm really struggling with photography atm, but some wise folks have all told me to bring on some more lighting, so thats what I'll do.

A really original scheme! I'm looking forward to seeing some footsoldiers - I'd imagine firewarriors look one hell of a lot more grimy and rough in these darker tones than the dayglo ones Heavy Metal seem to favour. Keep it up!
