Extra note: You'll notice several things about models during this game:
1. Some are proxies (such as my
SW bikers filling in for Chaos Bikers, or my
IG sentinels being used for Eldar War Walkers)
2. Some will change models (like when the
actual war walkers are destroyed, we swap the
IG sentinels for actual war walkers)
3. A lot of em aren't painted, are missing flying bases, etc.
Please just bear with us for the report
Disorder Turn 1
The deff koptas zoomed 12" up trying to get a bead on the Spirit Host, the Nurgle Marines did the same, zooming 18" thanks to the road. The kanz split silghtly, the one on the top level moving slightly over to claim the fallen Pathfinder. The Thousand Sons' rhino moved up and they deployed out, while the Zerker's stayed in their Land Raider which moved up 6". The three Ork vehicles moved up, being sure everything stayed in
KFF range. The Demon Prince moved into one of the forests hoping he'd be able to pull the Dark Reapers out of cover later with Lash. Thanks to Careful Planning, the Hounds of Huron came in from Reserve. The Formation itself gets Flank March, so they zoomed in from behind the bulk of the Eldar Forces, preparing to dish out death to the Fire Prisms and the Court. The 30 man Boyz squad advanced purely out of bordeom
With movement basically done, we move on to shooting and the revealing of the second Disorder strategic asset: Roks from space!

I took it knowing it might not be that effective, considering it scattered in
feet, but when I rolled up 3 Roks I admit to getting a little giddy. I placed the Rok counters (using actual pebbles) around his forces, hoping for minimal scatter. In the end, I wasn't too disappointed. One scattered a foot off course, but into his forces, one would hit the daemon prince, and the last would scatter waaaay off the board:
I only ended up killing a few models and immobilizing the Command Fire Prism, but most importantly I killed the Avatar (which strangely doesn't have Eternal Warrior like the Daemon Prince did), which removed much of the bonus of the Court of the Young King formation. One of the predators ended up destroying another of the Fire Prisms:
which killed a few more Banshees. Most of the big guns did relatively little, killing a few models here and there but not really doing anything note worthy. Eldrad got his revenge though, with his Runes causing the Daemon Prince to fail his Lash. He didn't suffer from Perils, unlike the poor Aspiring Sorcerer with the Thousand Sons, who ended up melting his own brain in an attempt to use Doom Bolt:
The Thousand Sons did pick off one Wraith Guard, but the Koptas were still out of range to fire.
The Hounds of Huron opened up on various targets with their bikes' bolters, not really hurting the Fire Prisms, but almost wiping out the unit of Warp Spiders. (The crater is what used to be a Fire Prism)
With shooting pretty much over, we launched into assault. And by "we" I mean the Hounds of Huron. They ended up wrecking another Fire Prism (blowing it up and losing a biker in the process) as well as stunning the crap out of another. The lord charged into the Singing Spears (who would end up Hit and Running, allowing the Chaos Lord to consolidate into the wreckage of a Fire Prism for cover), while the Warp Spiders held decently, getting cut down to only 3 members, killing one rider, and then holding their ground.
End disorder turn 1.
Automatically Appended Next Post: ack, i'll have to post up the rest after I get home! Sorry!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Eldar Turn 1
The Avatar was down, but the Eldar were far from done. Eldrad cursed the group of Bikers fighting the Warp Spiders with Doom, and fortuned his own unit. The Banshees and Scorpions turned around to deal with the Hounds in the back while the Spirit Hose advanced on the Disorder forces on that side of the board. The Swooping Hawks and Dire Avengers advanced a bit, moving towards the near objective in no-man's land.
In the city ruins, the Shadow Walker formation turned up, spread in an X pattern (sort of). They'd get double shots this turn, so we expected some serious pain.
Unfortunately for the Eldar, even double shots couldn't overcome bad, bad luck. 1 Kan would be destroyed, along with only 5 Deffkoptas out of 12. The command Walker tried to use its
EML and Bright Lance against a Defiler, but nothing even glanced.
Shooting from the Wraithlord destroyed the Chaos Land Raider in a single shot, leaving the Berserkers inside to walk for now.
Farther along, the Dark Reaper squad obliterated the Daemon Prince in a hail of fire, and one of the Fire Prisms immobilized the Rhino carrying the other squad of berserkers.
Calling down Psyhic abilities from a group of Farseers orbitting the planet, we ran into the first Eldar strategic asset: Eldritch Tempest. The apocalyptic barrage template covered my battlewagon and both looted wagons, and the Barrage (6) resulted in 8 total hits, 2 on the battlewagon, 2 on the looted rhinos and 4 on the looted soulgrinder. Were it not for the Big Mek in the Battlewagon toting his Kustom Force Field, all vehicles would have been destroyed. In the end, the field managed to deflect all but one shot against the Soulgrinder, which only shook the crew so they couldn't fire in the next turn! The vehicles were still spun around to face a random direction, but the worst of the storm had passed.
A little frustrated, we moved onto the assault phase. The Banshees charged into the group of bikers fighting the Warp Spiders while the Shining Spears charged the group of bikers waiting to destroy a Fire Prism. The Striking Scorpions went to assault the Chaos Lord, but the rubble of the Fire Prism prevented them from reaching him.
In the end the Shining Spears were wiped out by the Biker Champions Power Fist, and the Banshees wiped out the Chaos Bikers before they could even react.
