Sorry if this is in the wrong slot

I am slowly painting my Skull Pass Miners.
There are only eight of them which is an odd number.
I don't mean 8 is odd, but the unit size provided.

Want to get a nice round ten to start with and was wondering if it is worth getting a steam drill and an explosives engineer.
Would this be a good move for the points please?

Also I have been thinking of scratching the guys myself, rather than just having stand ins or faffing about with conversions.
Any hoo have a couple of sketches and would appreciate feedback please.

apologies for the quality, the scanner is stored away at the moment.
Thanks for looking

Nice! These are pretty cool. I wouldn't worry too much about whether it's most effective to have blasting charges or not- I think you could model it up, and as long as you announced equipment, people shouldn't have an issue.

I think there's a definite place for a steam drill led block in an anvil list.

I'd love to see these if you could find a way to pull them off!

Well, a steam drill is good to be able to field this Gamezone miniature:

Thanks Red

I'd love to see that too
Definitely going to have a crack at it, it's just a question of when.

It's taking so long just to get the Skull Pass miners to table top standard and I ould prefer to finish the rest of the set off before embarking on the project.
However, I have an idea for the steam drill using a Jeweller's screwdriver and a chunky plastic pen so may get the basics done soon.

Pah What do Gamezone know about sculpting miniatures?

A few of their guys will be getting a place in my army I reckon.

The sketches look good, but they could do with some touching up in GIMP or Photoshop to increase the contrast and make them easier to see.

Sorry Alex.

They are not intended as finished works but simply concept sketches and aide memoirs. Will hopefully get the scanner back up and running in future which will hopefully improve quality of images.
Hopefully these sketches are sufficient to give an idea of what I am hoping to achieve.
Thank you for the feedback which is very much appreciated.
Am going to be doing some further drawings to help me scale the figures properly and help with the sculpting.
As and when they get done will make sure they have better clarity.

Aw man, saw the new post, and was hoping we'd have a prototype! Still love these, btw...

These look very nice, I personally prefer the dwarf on top of the machine instead of the one holding it.

That's how it will be WarWizard

sorry Red.
Will hopefully be starting soon ie within the next 6 months

The problem I have is keeping to scale. When imagining and drawing you sort of inhabit the space/volume. When it comes to sculpting keeping the size down is tricky. The pen i was going to chop up for the steam drill was far too big

Have chopped a smaller one that will work better and it is tiny *gulp*

ps Because I don't have the luxury of working with 3up's I decided to scale some drawings, which can then be scaled down on the laptop and provide a guide for size.

Also this will help scale the armature.
