Wanted to make a few units of Chaos Raptors using the Dark Angels upgrade kit and Space Marine jump packs with a bunch of left over Chaos Marine bits (arms, weapons, and shoulders).

Didn't know if anyone had any tips on making them look extra chaos-y. They are going to be Slaanesh themed including the Icon, but beside paint schemes, didn't know if there were any specific bits I should look out for to help them look more like Raptors in robes.

All help/tips are welcome.

Make sure the bitz are slaanesh themed. Try not to have nurgle looking bitz, or khorne looking bits. Try to have the bitz you use resemble the chaos god who you are allying yourself with.

I was also wondering about Lightning claws. I'm having a hard time finding a suitable pair of lightning claws for power armor, everything seems to be for terminators.

Could I:

a) Mod some power weapons for both left and right arms and make them count towards lightning claws (i.e. power mace and power sword one in each hand)

or

b) Should I try to find possessed marine arms? I don't really like their look for my robed raptors, but they seem to be the only more chaos-y financially ideal way to pull that off.

Space Wolf Squad boxes have some LCs that go on Power Armor, IIRC

I went for a squad of 'zerkers with SM jump packs. the Khorne models have good running poses and come with lots of lovely CC weapons.

I have some LC bits in my box, I think they came from the Space Marine commander kit or something similar. You could also chop the arms from Captain Shrike or the Night Lords hero.
I'd personally shy away from the codex marine jump packs, if you look you can find some older style packs around. Though it could be amusing to leave one modern pack in the squad and paint it as a pack looted from a Blood Angel corpse.

For an example

For the LC bits, terminator claws usually work fine as claws are mounted on a power fist. Just grab the chaos termie ones.

Son can you play me a memory? I'm not really sure how it goes...

I saw someone who converted some raptors out of khorne berzerkers, and made a custom lightning claw for them, that looked pretty good. If I can find the link I'll post it. Especially because the cost of chaos terminator lightning claws is like 4 bucks a piece per bit.

This discussion is absurd. The mental gymnastics on display here are appalling. The combat familiar gives the DP two attacks with a specific profile. The special rule modifies the DP's attacks, no matter how it got those attacks. The CF's attacks are at AP 2. Anything else is stupid.

I've done similar making Blood Talons for my BA dreads. I put a big greenstuff fist on the end of the dreadnought arm and grafted on plasticard claws Wolverine style. I'm not happy with my fist sculpting though, so haven't gone on to finish it
