I would suggest that you invest the points into the boss zagg for the Stormboyz. If you are running 20 of these it would be insane to not go with him.

I agree if you can find a way to clear enough points for him i say go for it, Zag gets a priority power fist when he deep strikes and thats INSANE, i dont have my codex on me but does he get a perfect deep strike too? Either way i think hes definatly worth the points if your rolling with 20 stormboyz.
Will you need the gretchin if all your boyz in trucks are just plowing forward?

The gretchin literally won me a game last week by sitting on an objective from turn two on. They're in there because all my boyz are plowing forward; I don't want to have to leave a Trukk behind to babysit an objective.

I don't feel the Zag love, guys. Sure he get an initiative PK, but only on the turn he charges and he doesn't have one otherwise. If I don't wipe something on the turn I charge it, I'll be stuck there with no PK to stop me losing combat. Also, 20 boyz is a pretty big DS footprint and he does not get any special deep strike scatter rules.

You are missing one point. Zagg and his stormboyz can assault the turn they deep strike, so no waiting.

Yeah, if I DS 20 models within 6" with no mishaps...

Claypool is right.. Zagstruk is all too prone to mishaps
A few questions:
Where is your Mek running? I would have him with the 11 boys not the nobs so as to make it less of a super-target
Where is your Warboss running? Again I personaly would have him with the boys to force your opponent to pick targets. (If you do have him with the nobz it's still not too bad)
Why the grot prod and the cybork body on the mek?
If you remove those and put the warboss with the boys that should free up 21 points AFAIR. With those you get 4 rockets on the trukks.
I do that in my list for some extra AV which is actually quite cheap

Yeah, I think you'd be better off putting a heavy in the boys rather than upgunning the trucks. This list is like an old dark eldar glass hammer: it hits hard, but nothing has any real staying power.

Find someway to transform 3 of those Trukks into Battlewagons, even if you have to plasticard some armor, slap it on, and paint it real quick like. Get some toilet paper rolls, stick some thumb tacks through them, and add those on as deffrollas.

And most of this can be accomplished by excising the Stormboyz.

As is, your list is gonna get shot to pieces by IG and other armies packing lots of firepower. Battlewagons give you some resistance against this.

I have the mek with the boyz and the boss with the nobz. Grot-Prod and Cybork Body are just cuz I had points left over. What would anyone have me spend those 15-20pts on?

Its a standard trukk boy build. The problem you run into is that even with KFF trukks are very easy to stop. Glances need a 5+ and pens a 3+ to immobilize them. So the army will generally arrive in waves. The problem is that those waves dont hit hard enough to do any real damage.

Take my nids, I play against orks a lot. This army would struggle hard against a solid gaunt screen. You either use units to shoot the gaunts out of the way, meaning you get less assaults on the big things. Or you just get stuck charging gaunts, and dying when you get counter charged by more gaunts and the big mean things. Its a cool idea in theory, but in practice it doesnt do that well. So thats my 2 cents as far as the competitiveness goes, id give it a 6 out of 10. Now if what you want is a goofy speed freaks fluff list, then you have it right here.

I disagree. I find Zagg and his boyz, especially when they are 20 strong will deviate too much to be effective. They will either mishap or go out of range, I find him to be too much of a risk.

Clay, personally I would put one Heavy Armour into the nobs over the AR, as it's not a model using a CombiLauncher.

Grot prod is an interesting one, so often I wish I had the runth with ws wounding MC on 4+ (you know, just in case). But if you have the points over you could either goto 8 nobz or another PK in that squad, perhaps even, if you went to 4 BP *Which isn't always a bad thing, you can use this force target priority for you opponent, put the BPs at the 'back' keeping them protected, force the choice BP PK or close trukk.

I don't know if you'll get this before the tourney but you have:
26 from points Grot-prod, Mek's Cybork, Warboss extra BP and the boy that leaves so the Warboss gets a seat in a trukk

That gets you 1 more Nob with a bit of wargear which I would suggest to be eavy armor. Dump any wounds with an armor save on him first.

@War One. This is the list he plays, and has the most experience with. I agree that he will probably discover that at these points the Trukks will be too thin but you can't change a list and strategy the day before the tourney. Work with what you have and when he comes back Claypool can tell us if he wished he had BW

@ Deff Jaw "rockits on trukks are a joke" Thats easy to say but you are not offering anything better. What would you do with those 20 points? Do you agree on 2 Bosspoles in a squad plus Cybork on the Mek ?Is the Grot prod on the camper grots less funny than a Rocket on a trukk?
Anyway 4 rockets on a trukks while they maybe be hilarious as Deff jaw says and you can't count on them they will still get you 1 definite hit (1,3 statisticaly but not calculated below) on a vehicle with
16% chance of glancing and 50% penetrate on AV 11
16% chance of glancing and 33% penetrate on AV 12
16% chance of glancing and 16% penetrate on AV 13
Now that for 20 points doesn't sound like a bad deal

I tested this list against my buddy last night and it gave me some insight into it. I dropped the useless upgrades and used them to put 'eavy Armor on a couple Nobs. I think I'm gonna keep the Warboss with the Nobz just so that unit will completely wreck face. I'm really excited for the tourney tomorrow.

I got wrecked by Missle Spam Space Wolves (He took first), tabled Tyranids (8th Place), and went 15-10 against Mech IG (4th Place). Turns out that the 3rd place guy was over points and played shadily more than a couple times but no one ever mentioned it to the TO. Such is life...

I was very happy with the performance of my list and although Battlewagons might be better, I think that'd hurt my chances at best army.

Got the new plastic Daemon Prince and a pot of Vomit Brown with my winnings.
