I kind of picture what you're getting at, but maybe a sketch would be good for us visual types.

Either way, I'll probably buy it.

Not going to blindly buy myself, not unless it really hits my funny bone in the right way, plus with the Tannenberg and Matilda (hopefully) soon around the corner, difficult choices will have to be made.

Yeah, I've been holding off until FemBurg, when I'll pick some heavy weapons too.

I dunno.. the concept sounds like a decent Sentinel alternative, but for heavy weapons I kinda prefer a look more like crew served weapons, though I could see the tracked thing working with certain themes for the army. A tarantula or rapier alternative though.. that would be neatish.

Ooh, I like that- a sentry gun would be awesome. I've been wanting to add some as a throw-away option for my Guard or Marines for awhile, as they are fairly cheap points-wise. The problem is that their price from FW is not throw-away...

lol, yeah true
There are a few options out there already too from Anvil, PW, etc. I don't play much 40k these days but Vic has the aesthetic down cold and if she were to get into that field, it would offer a less modern/hard sci-fi look that is more in-line with the almost dieselpunk/James Cameron/Ridley Scott love-child that is 40k.

If there's a tracked vehicle that fits onto a 60mm base, how many of you are interested in it as an alternative to a Heavy Weapons Team, or a Sentinel?

It would have part options to mount all of the heavy weapons, including the mortar. It may also have diorama possibilities with something you guys will see around the 6th or 7th of July...

You have potential if the tracked vehicle can do IG/SM type weapons.

For me if there is a tracked vehicle that fits onto a 60mm base, I want it to be a tankette Sentinel modelled after Carden Loyd Mk IV

Depite a loss of detail in bones, I'm alright will that on my faceless goobs if that makes it affordable to build legions of guys!

I hope not I don't want lost detail miniatures and what is the reaperbone anyway ?

Ok, so..

Reaper Bones is them converting a lot of the old metal minis over to PVC, which we all know is a type of plastic.

The projects in regards to this are Vic's, but Reaper wants to publish them, so that's what we've been working on for the last two months.

That's in addition, of course, to me packing up house to move across town (and it takes a surprising amount of time to pack up a 4 bedroom house with massive hobby room), and Vic having pranged her knee a while back. (She did tell me on Skype that while the drugs slowed down sculpting progress, they were quite nifty otherwise, lucky lady...)

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

No LDD, publishing in this respect is the production.

I swear sometimes, this industry goes "oh, we like this term, let's use it".. "but that's for books!".. "we're takin' it anyway".

We're like the tank corps in that respect.

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

The reaper Bones materail is actully awsome, and I love working with it. The only problem is that at this point it's abit infamous for the fact every human that get's switch over to it bassicly lose their nose.....

In "Bones":

If it wasn't for the fact the finer details on her face like her nose were lost, i would call that a perfect translation in bones.

Stuff with more chunky detail or made with bones in mind looks amazing.

Personally if vic's stuff was available both in bones and resin I would be ecstatic. I think everything but the heads would make the jump to bones prety well.

Looking at that I hope not I like the crisp detail you get from resin, that looks pretty crappy and why pay less just to get a less detailed model?

Snip.....

A hybrid kit might be good resin heads and weapons but bones for the rest to reduce cost. I might go for this to be honest for my rank and file IG but I have no experience with he bones material so this could be a mistake on my part.

Or will we see bones used to get the Matilda in production? (Given its cheaper)

Definitely. I'll admit that my knee-jerk reaction to reading Victoria Miniatures was mingling with Bones plastic was not positive. A boutique model range that focuses of modular options and fine detail seems at odds with Reaper's Bones project (cheap masses of figures).

However, I have faith that Vic and company know what they are doing so maybe this won't be so bad. I could see the heavy weapons carriages being a good fit for Bones plastic. I am skeptical about the infantry, however.

Bones may be cheap and lower quality than styrene, resin, or pewter models, but let's not forget that Reaper makes some fine miniatures outside of that. It sounds a bit like you're thumbing your nose at the original sculpts the Bones are derived from when in fact, the purpose was to make nicer kits more accessible for people with tight purse strings.

In what way did I disparage Reaper's metal models? I don't think Vic's minis would be good for the Bones plastic because of the potential for detail loss. Bones figures lose detail and get warped, that has nothing to do with the quality of the original metal models and everything to do with the material Bones uses. Let me put where I said this in red.

There. Better?
