Hello all, recently (it may've been on this site i'm not sure) i found some backgrounds for war gaming photography. With these backgrounds, i took some photos of my very first painted grey knight. I used a home-made lightbox made from paper and well, thats it! I am pleased with my results and wish to share them with you! Enjoy!

Throw a wash on him, and itll look much nicer.

The idea on the background is a pretty neat one. Makes the mini look a bit more dynamic

He was washed with devlan mud, but then gloss varnished, thanks for the comment King.

I think what King was trying to say is that your Marine lacks detail. For some reason your wash did not fill the creases and "cracks" well enough to cause details to "pop" out from the tinfoil looking basecoat, especially on the outside parts of the shoulderpads.

My suggestion would be to paint your GKs in greys instead of metallics. That way even if you don't use NMM you can still contol shading, highlighting, and washing far better than you can with metallics and their built-in shine.

The photography is great...the painting leaves a little more to be desired. I love the camera angles though!

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress
800 points of unassembled Urban themed Imperial Guard
650 points of my do-it-yourself Tempest Guard
675 points of Commoraghs finest!

The Dude - "Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women, man."

Lord Helmet - "I bet she gives great helmet."

A bit of praise never goes amiss! Thank-you! I agree, not my best painting.
