So here's the army. Built and basecoated the question now is, can this army be painted in a months time with some discipline and a can of MinWax Special Walnut?

The models you see are:
1 Chimera
1 Leman Russ Demolisher/Punisher/Executioner (magnetized!)
1 Scout Walker with auto cannon
1 Command Squad w/Banner, Medic, Vox, Powerfist, and Melta
4 Infantry Squads all with Grenade launchers and vox casters
2 Platoon command squads with PW, a vox, and three meltas
2 plasma guns, one melta, one flamer, an extra gaurdsmen (should have been another plasma! I may fix that...)
4 autocannon HWT
3 Mortar HWT
3 Missle Launcher HWT

As this was taken with a phone camera, I will make sure the progress pictures that will accompany this blog will be taken with my Nikon so you can tell the progress.

The method I'll employ can be found here http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/320090.page

Yes, but without commissars it won't be competitive

Your last attempts at doing this yielded a pretty nice result, especially for the amount of effort required. I predict this goes well.

^^ as above, if you need to paint quickly, its pretty much the way to go

I minwax my mechanicus as well, however i leave them brown and shiney as I imagine them all drenching themselves in holy machine oil.

Commissars huh? Hmm, still need to do research on IG armies...

At any rate the real test will be doing this during three lunch hours a week inbetween working, being a dad, and a full time seminary student.

Ah, the joys of the hobby!

This can definitely be done, you just need to figure out your time schedule and set yourself some deadlines. That is generally what I do when I have a massive army to paint. Some simple discipline can make even the biggest of armies go very quickly.

Also as long as you do certain parts together, that will save you time, almost like an assembly line. The assembly line principle though will become boring and repetitve, but in the long run it will save you much time.

The drudgery becomes worthwhile when I sit back and look over everything.

Yes I'm planning on something like:

Week 1 - One Infantry Squad + Extra men
Week 2 - Vehicles
Week 3- Two Infantry Squads
Week 4 - Command and Plattoon Squads
Week 5 - Heavy Weapons Team

This will help me not paint the same thing each week and know what I have to get done.

Thats what i do, set up a schedule over a week or a portion of my army over a month, so its not a constant everyday thing, did that with my DW and as it was only 25 or so models it was 25 or 26 days of pure hell, i had a tournament to go to and i wanted a painted army. Well now i know that i should plan ahead.

Progress has been slow. Certainly the army is not yet complete. Thanks to holidays, school, fatherhood, husbandry (taking care of my wife, not animals), and work, I was able to get some more painting done this month.

The Company Command squad. Currently with two meltas. Running the medic has actually been helpful more than once. The banner has NEVER been helpful, I just like the model.

Four sergeants and two platoon officers with power weapons. Rock on.

Come in? Come in? Oh, that's that just ESPN talking about Auburn winning the BCS and then losing Cam Newton. Next year will be rough.

Two grenade launchers, a plasma gun, and a flame thrower. Bring the pain. Grenade launcher did me the honor of killing a Dark Eldar Archan yesterday in one shot. Yup.

Minus the eight guys I had done previously, this brings my count up to...(counts men on screen)...13 lasgun guardsmen.

Huzah! I love having guys painted!

In between being a dad, husband, and going to work, I've been painting! Got some Commissars painted and some Ministorium Priests converted from Empire Flaggelants. As far as troops go, I still lack the heavy weapons teams, as well as some converted Master of Ordinance, Master of the Fleet, and Astropath. Perhaps pics today? We'll see.
This is the pre-dip stage.

This is the dipped stage without the antishine gloss so it's really glossy right now. I'm waiting to base the models before putting the final pics up.

Here's the army so far!

Loving the quickness of dipping. I thought it would be impossible to paint 70+ models in any sane amount of time.
