Hey everyone! I have been working on building a Salamanders army for a while. I need a better way to track my progress and a project log seemed like a great way to do this. I am currently kit bashing together Chapter Master Tu'shan and the six captains. Also check out the First Chaplain, Chief Librarian and Master of the Forge.

Oh Sage you need to geek out more, they're are Marneus Calgar's legs.

Firstly all the conversions look great, however the two things that I wasn't so sure about are the size and shaping of the 6th Co. Captain's halberd and the dragon piece on the end of the MoTF's conversion beamer. Not saying they look bad just some how a little off to me.

Anyway I'm sure a lick of paint and i'll be won over, great job. Looking forward to your progress.

Command Squad Veterans - AoBR Conversions

And finally (for now) a contingent of the Promethean Guard (my moniker for the first squad of the vanguard veterans). Now to get to painting.

Today's progress, armor basecoat and some highlighting on the 2nd Company Champion

the 6th company champion has an ultra marine symbol in the middle.

Today's progress, based and primed a Firedrake squad. I especially like how the terminator sergeant turned out. He was converted using the head/torso of the AoBR captain.

Today's progress: More or less finished basecoat on Firedrakes. Might require one more coat.

A few other conversions left over in the camera. These are various vanguard and command squad veteran models.

How are you going to explain the Nurgle shoulder pad on the second to last Command Veteran? What head is that? It even appears to have 3 warts on his forehead in the shape of the Nurgle sigil.

Very awesome models. They look like the elite of all Space Marines. Love the use of the Chaos bitz (like the dragon gargoyle weapon head) and the Lizardmen bitz. Are you going to use any of the Saurus scaly shields for anything?

I have a lot of small mods to make to a bunch of these models to remove anything obviously out of place (chaos symbols, ultramarines, etc). Some of these models are only in the early stages of conversion. That head is from the space marine commander sprue. Guess it is just a coincidence the service studs came out nurgly.

I am going to use saurus shields sparingly. I kind of prefer the look of the traditional storm shield.
