For your viewing pleasure, a blurry and crappy mobile-quality picture of a ranger...

I have yet to weather him, and I took the pic first because it's my first time applying mud and I'm frankly scared that I'll wreck the model, so here we go... proof of its former existence:

Please, leave criticism... I'm very inexperienced at painting Eldar.

(Actually looking at the image I can see I forgot to paint the gloves and the tube leading from the rifle into his pack... d'oh)

The model also isn't based as I'm still figuring out how to model it as muddy.

I agree, the camoflauge is very impressive! the tones of red and blue also work well together. I really like the color you chose to highlight the blue with. I would fear adding weathering detail as well, your work is great. Excellent figure!

1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress

Thanks a bunch

The blue on the guns and faceplate is regal blue (with the former having first been based with lich purple and washed with ogryn flesh... sort of as an experiment, first Eldar gun I'd painted; hoped to leave a nice dark purple in the recesses) and the upward-facing parts were given a nice brushing of ultramarines blue with the final edge-highlight being enchanted blue

I am so glad I didn't go with purple guns in the end though xP

Update on the weathering: Something went wrong with my washes and little pink patches were left on the lower part of the cloak :( I've painted over it and it looks fine but it means I have to start over, neurgh.

How did you get the body armour red?

Heh I have to thank the staff at my local GW for that one... I was going to undercoat the models white because every time I've tried to apply red to a black undercoat it's just epic-failed, even with my mechrite red.

When I talked about it they just shook my paint pot up and it worked... lol...

But it's Mechrite red with an ogryn flesh wash and then blood red over that with a "wide" blazing orange highlight and a fine edge-highlight of elf flesh

I'll add that blood red straight on to chaos black still won't work: You NEED to use a foundation paint to prime it first, it seems?
