Warpcon XXI will be held at University College Cork January 28-30, 2011. Cork was recently voted as one of the three places to visit by lonely planet. About 100 40k players are expected to be competing. Rulespack and other event info: http://www.warpcon.com/

Also, if any yanks are interested in going to Ireland, I have a small pied-a-terre there that I'm happy to open to transatlantic travellers.

I thought this was my job. Score, someone else did it for me.

This might be a more appropriate link as I'm unsure if the rulespack has been updated by the students.

*Just checked on 19/12/2010 - it hasn't.*

Its 1750 points with 5 games using the ETC 15/10/5 +/- vps for scoring. There's a pile of Nordies, 2 groups from Dublin, other lads from all over the country and as always a load of the locals turning up. We're looking at 80 for the 40k with another 30+ for the Fantasy. The college pub is expected to have a late licence til 2am again but you can always head out for €3 pints in the city centre which is just 15 mins walk away from where the wargames are taking place.

I'm expecting a number of Dakkaites (you know who you are) to head to it.

Interesting results. Dark Angels (Belial 5x5 terminators and 3 small units of bikes I think) took first place in a 66 person field. Evidently gakloads of deep striking terminators with 2+/3++ saves give mech. guard a hard time (I think the winner faced three triple vendetta lists--could be wrong though). Yours truly took 10th place--dropping the first two games but winning out strong in my last three. My second loss was particularly horrific as my 16 kill point squishy/shooty Orks faced an 11 kill point Black Templar army with double land raiders--can you say kill point denial? I'm not sure of the army distribution but there were many many triple/double vendetta guard lists, and a similar gakload of space wolves. New DE did quite well I think. I'll post up the actual results when they are officially announced.
