Turn One:

The Tau have stolen the initiative from the Blood Angels, throwing the Blood Angel Player into a rage(He was seriously upset)

Tau forces remain conservative and hold their positions, while laying down some fire.(Managing to inflict two wounds on The Sanguinar, and killing 6 space marines(Two from each squad.

Stealth Team one advanced in an attempt to flank the BA. The Pathfinders advance via scout move, and lay down suppressing fire.

BA: turn. Out of combat range the Blood Angels are forced to advance.(All they did was advance, not of them received the benefits from Blood thirst)

TURN TWO

Tau remain stationary once more this time managing to pin a blood both blood angel assault teams down(THANK YOU MARKER LIGHTS) inflicting light casualties on the BA force (Killing three more, one from each squad again)

Space Marine player fires a rocket, and misses, and decides to keep The Sanguinar with the main bulk of his forces.

(This was a rather Uneventful turn)

Turn Three

The BA strike back!

Tau: The Piranhas advance, and wreck the Rhino, The Sanguinor is killed by well placed shots from Sniper drones(All the way to the left), and three more battle Brothers are slain, resulting in one Assault Squad Being Pinned. Kroot out flank, only to be torched by the Kill team escaping from the wrecked Rhino. Two more battle brothers are slain(That is what caused the final Assault squad to remain pinned, that and Marker lights)

BA: Death Company Advances, slaughtering the pathfinders (In Me-lee) who have caused them so much irritation. Sanguinary Guard Land successfully, and kill five members of the out flanking stealth team.

Turn 4

Tau: Shadow Sun Deep strikes in, behind the Fire Warrior controlled point. The Tau battle line is in danger, and they were forced to fire into the advancing Death Company and Assault marines. Piranhas turbo boast on course for the space Marine point. Fire warriors in their controlled point fire into the Sanguinary Guard, killing four of them(Dante and two of the Guard survive, yes my friend rolled five ones). Tau Battle Line slays a few more blood angels. Stealth Team deep strikes in, Kroot are defeated in melee combat by the kill team.

BA: Dante Breaks off and engages the Stealth team. Death Company slaughters the drone snipers with ease, Assault Marines slaughter the Broadside team. The lone Sanguinary Guard engages the Fire warriors at their point in melee combat.

TURN 5!

Tau: Hammer Head manages to kill 7 BA's, (3 from death company, 4 from the Assault Squad). Piranhas Turbo boast towards the BA base.) Shadow Sun rushes to the aid of her Fire warriors, defeating them, and securing the point. The Blue Kroot slam into the assault marines, locking them firmly in combat.

BA: Assault Squad destroys a Piranha. Blue Kroot are assaulted by Death company, who is also locked into combat with them(The Kroot were really doing well) Tactical squad is pinned by the surviving drone sniper team.

BA player rolls for a Sixth turn...and it was a one.

Game result: Draw

Yea, It really was a tight game. Blood Angels are a tough army, but my Tau always manage to give em hell.

It's really a fun match up.

I try and deep strike against my buddies Tau, to deny him a round of shooting mostly.
I think when the Tau get a new Codex in the coming year (IF that do that is ) they will be easily the most shooty army.

the kroot need to be out front, or in position where they can either rapid fire at incoming enemy units, or initiate the charge to take any bonus away from you enemy.

I said this to my self after the battle. Had I not been so..cautious, I might have handed out a defeat, though sacrificing much less valuable units doing it.

yeah its always for the greater good! I played a game recently and won with a squad of 10 kroot holding the only objective. I sacrificed 3 squads of crisis suits and my hq to keep the enemy off the objective.

Cool batrep.

Question: What is the source of that tall grass the kroot are standing behind in the first pic? It looks to be on a "sprue"of sorts. I need similar.
