Well it looks like I will be buying a new army. I am just not sure the best and least expensive way to do it is. Here is my list so far.

L: Demon Prince - MoT, level 3, third eye, roar = 480

H: Exalted Hero - MoT, BSB, bronze armor, talisman of endurance, shield = 195

C: 18 Warriors - MoT, musician, standard bearer, shields, Rapturous Standard = 346
C: 30 Marauders - MoK, musician, standard bearer, flails = 192
C: 30 Marauders - MoK, musician, standard bearer, gw = 192
C: 7 Warhounds = 42

S: 17 Chosen - MoT, command, halberds, favor, Wailing banner = 448
S: 6 Chaos Knights - MoK, musician, standard bearer, Blasted Standard = 340

R: Warshrine = 130
R: Warshrine = 130

Total = 2495

My plan was to purchase 3 battalions. I was going to use the left over warriors and knights to make my chosen and the left over hounds with extra bits to make a couple of warshrines. My other thought would be to drop the marauders and go more elite with more warrior blocks. It might save me some money that way, but I would be losing a lot of bodies. So I guess my questions are;

1) Does the list look good? Are there any changes anyone would suggest?
2) Are 3 battalions the best way to go? I would order them on the 31st to get 25% off.
3) What would you add to get to 3k? I was thinking of adding a sorcerer, maybe some more knights, and more hounds, mainly because I would still have some possibilities left over from the battalions.
4) Or do I trash my WoC idea all together and go Lizardmen?

Thanks for any thoughts and suggestions.

Lovin' the fact that the DP is still in there. Other than that, none of these but the hounds are units I use so hard to say .

I am not sure about the battalions being the best way to go if you're not using all of the contents, although using knight torsos for chosen sounds tasty!!

Also, what's this about ordering on the 31st to get 25% off?

Check out the Warstore. I think they have a promotion that goes from Dec. 31st to Jan. 3rd in which they give you an additional 5% off your purchases.

Any thoughts? I think I will be putting my order in tomorrow.

It is a shame there are so many armies I like. I could always talk myself out of one army for another. I like the look of beastmen, lizardmen, and HE. However, I figured I would need too many models for beastmen and would get tired painting the same scheme for all of them. Lizardmen have too many metal models for my tastes and always seem to come in second place when I am looking at new armies, maybe it is because of the toad general. (granted I think I would use an old Burger King flipping Yoda toy as my slann ) And I already have DE and WE so would like to get something different, but I could have a pretty good start if I converted my DE spearmen and black guard into LSG and phoenix guard.

Anyway, it is WoC for now. What does everyone think? Are 3 battalions worth it or the right choice?

Personally I see nothing glaringly wrong with the list. It looks solid in combat and magic defence/offence. The hounds your going to use as screening/fodder? On your beastmen comment. Yeah they take a lot of painting. But they are pretty fast to paint once you get used to it as most of them are the flesh tones and some hair/cloth/metal details. Fun to play but definitely at a great disadvantage versus some forces purely by nature of army books/playstyle. With your battalion boxes you'll have enough core and knights to field a variety of forces as you need so it looks a good investment.

Best of luck!

Thanks. Army is ordered.

So I was thinking about lizardmen or beastmen for my next army.
