The list has an emphasis on Thunderstomp - Warriors may make quick work on unit, but killing an extra half dozen models per turn has some real advantages. The single difficulty encountered in playing the list was a lack of productivity in the magic phase. Adding Third Eye of TZ to the Demon Prince would go a long way to resolving the problem - just need to find 25 points to reallocate.

As a guy who has been running a DP w/ MoT, level 1, third eye & roar backed up by a shaggoth w/ ahw, along with secondary tizz caster and tizz BSB, I can tell you that it works pretty well. Or at least is a lot of fun to play. My shaggy makes me especially happy, and you'll be surprised how many people have no idea how good his stats are, since shaggoths don't even blip on most people's metas.
15 warriors seems a bit lite per unit, but this is 2000 points, and they are frenzied halberd bastards so I'm thinking it will all work out

What if you changed one of your warrior units to Tzeentch with shields and drop one warrior? That way your BSB will feel like he belongs somewhere. It would give you 26 points and somewhat more of an anvil unit.

@Boss - and I thought I was the only one foolish enough to run both a DP and a Shaggoth.
@boogeyman - I've used that configuration in the past: 2 units of Kh and 1 unit of TZ. The TZ unit has not done much for me - although it would provide the 25 points needed for 3rd Eye of TZ....

Hey, now! I do this, too... although for me, the shaggoth hasn't done anything like live long enough to get his points back. Better than the Giant, though...
I guess you've considered running 2 larger units of warriors, instead of the 3 smaller ones? Would also give you an opportunity to get those 25 points (which I think are pretty much a must for a DP).
What's your and Salvage's take on Bloodcurdling roar instead of the breath weapon gift? I'm surprised to see most people pick bloodcurdling roar first... (I guess since you're keeping him out of combat, but I would think you'd be marching him to fly great distances and not being able to roar; unless it has an exception)...

Roar occurs in the shooting phase but isn't a shooting attak per se, so you can march and still yell. Worked like this in 7th, still the same in 8th AFAIK. There are lots of reasons I prefer roar over stream, with #1 probably being that you can use it 6 times a game vs 1. Sure there are less vulnerable small units in 8th, but roar (with some dice behind it) can decimate them, and the limitless 6+ to wound in 8th means that screaming war machines to death is a very real possibility. Indeed that's my general plan with the DP: hop 20" over or into their line, angled to scream at a war machine and hopefully still see the enemy level 4; cast some uber spell at something, even just flicker to wound the machine; roar the machine dead or wounded; either flip the machine, rear-charge somebody or re-align for more mayhem next turn. And it probably doesn't need to be said but roar still reams knights, ala my 1800 pointer where I roared 5 knights + a mounted BSB to death over a few turns. Still the most amazing use of 20 points I know of, and seriously one of the only reasons I still want to play my WoC. - Salvage

Wow, you've convinced me!! I'm guessing in your description, you're talking about the rear charge happening on turn 2 if I'm following you correctly. Certainly does sound tempting... although, I'm surprised every other warmachine isn't drawing a bead on the DP at that point!
It's still pretty theoretical for me because by the time I assembled mine our escalation league was winding down (once we hit early December nobody got their games in) so I haven't gotten to really try him out much yet.
The Shaggoth I have been... and it ain't been pretty

I like 3 smaller units rather than 2 larger units.
1 - plenty of spells which affect/damage/kill the whole unit
2 - movement advantage. If one unit is halted, I still have 2 more.
3 - fighting ranks. 8th is all about dice. 3 units will put more figures into the fighting ranks (including that all important 1st rank)

What about a Lord on a disk with roar. Less points, better magic, better armor and better ward if properly equipped?

I've run that configuration quite a few times. Works well - but I wanted to try a different set up.

I like this list quite a bit.
It's pretty much the opposite of what I run most of the time at around 2250.
I like seeing a list with a Shaggoth and a DP. I'm a lot more conservative. You've convinced me to try Roar though. =)
