Introduction: Planet Tor-Gath/far edge of Rynn's World, Warp sensors detect an unknown group of ships entering the system just as a sever ion storm hits the ara jamming all communications. Imperial Commander Pathos Istotez, a young commander just returned from the latest incursion from Charon. Upon hearing the news of the u8nknown fleets arival and seeing that any communication is not possible has sent an Imperial Scout ship to Terra to alert official their. But unknown to Commander Pathos an Imperial Lord on Terra already knows of the situation and has given orders to the Imperial Fleet to shoot and destroy the aproaching Scout ship upon its arrival. Commander Pathos begins to rally his garrison troops, 10,000 Imperial Guard. These troops are battle hardened vetrans and have preparred defences ready just as the aproaching Chaos landing ships begin to arrive. Orbital bombardment upon the city was heavy, but the cities shielding held strong as the Chaos jump troops fell from the sky. Raptors supported by Chaos Space Marines from the Black Legion have arrived to destroy the Imperials with hatred in their hearts and minds. 25 miles south of the Capitol city of Far Ridge the first of the armored Chaos vehicles approached, Commander Pathos choose his defencive position well. Forcing the Chaos ground troops and armor to march across open plains filled with mine fields and booby traps, holding back his armored forces for a final blow. The Imperial Guard we well dug in with bunkers every 100 meters, tangled with barbed wire and ready Imperial troops.
Situation: Chaos forces aproached from the south in force as the Imperial Guard choose to dig in with infantry, the Mission choosen was Cleanse (we choose no objectives as my son was learning the rules) so both sides must sweep and destroy all opposing units from the table. Chaos wins Init and chooses to let the Imperials set up first.

Turn 1
Imperials set up first ready to take the fight to Chaos, Imperial player deploys behind bunkers and city scape buildings and waits as there is not much action in this turn. Chaos deploy 3 Rhino's, a Vindicator and a Predator this turn keeping the bulk of their forces in Reserve. Imperial artillery fires destroys 2 Chaos rhino's with perfect effect sending CSM's scattering for cover, Chaos retaliated by repeat fire onto the x3 autocannon team killing them.
Turn 2
Chaos rush forward trying to get into close combat with the Catchian units but buildings prevent them from getting to close as mortors find their tagets well and get lucky taking out another Chaos Rhino and Predator is wrecked. Gunny Sgy Harker charges his unit into a CSM unit locking them up in close combat. Chaos rolls for Reserve units but no luck, as the othre CSM unit engages with Catchians, Chaos is thinking hard right now as most of their armor is now burning out of control.
Turn 3
Snipers pin down the Beserkers behind the rhino wreckage, Vindicator opens fire and misses. Chaos Reserves arrive but with a mishap (10 Chaos Termies deviated off the board upon teleporting) bad luck again for Chaos as the Chaos Lord comes down and near him are 7 Raptors that charge the Sniper team wiping them out. Imperial Rhino is wrecked by CSM plasma gun. 3 Oblitorators come down as well but deviate far from the enemy and have no line of sight, bad luck again.
Turn 4
Chaos see's it is loosing the upper hand now and press forward, 2 CSM units are locked in CC as well as Raptors lead by the Chaos Lord. The Bezerkers no longer pinned b sniper fire charge the infantry squad with the x3 flamers and wipe them out taking 2 loses, but Commander Pathos and his HQ squad charge the Chaos Lord from behind killing him and the 7 Raptors with him as Gunny Sgt Harker follows up behind the Chaos Lord as well. Chaos is doomed and their forces scatter all directions as their Chaos Lord falls. (Chaos tosses in the towel) Chaos now defeated the dug in Imperials gain a much needed victory as Commander Pathos now puts plans together for a counter attack, this time Chaos will be the ones defending. (My son is getting better as he got his first win over me so lets see 4 wins to 1 lose....The dice so hated me in this game. So as promised to my son I will buy him his much wanted Ultra Marine force he has been wanting after seeing that Space Marine movie. But I say this....Chaos will return to repay my son in much deserved blood shed....Sorry for a short post and no pics, it was a rush game last night and mom was upset last night as we were noisy.
