Okay.

What are your initial thoughts? what is your craftworlds background? what colour scheme are you going for?

The image you picked is a good example but it depends on your skill level and willingness/need to go the extra mile.

If you need other ideas use google For instance typing in Eldar Wave Serpent will net a top of the list result for images of Wave Serpents (crazy eh?). or even look through the Dakka gallery.

I was thinking of painting it like it was on the box - red and IDK some kind of detailed and I dont know what craftworld background, I'm leasrning about that right now and my skill level is good, and i plan to put this in a few comps if that says anything!

I am 99% certain your pic you posted is airbrushed.

As for a scheme like the box, shouldn't be that tough to do.

First think of some colors you want to use, and go paint all the really big areas. then highlights, wash, and you will probably have something good. Black or a darker color of your base color in the lines, although it might be easier to use a paint pen so you don't mess up the rest.

That's how I would do it.

edit: you added more pics! The 2nd on (first new one), probably airbrushed also, and the last one, doesn't look airbrushed, but would look TONS of time and a steady hand.

When I ment Comps I ment Golden Demon!

The picture in the first post is definitely airbrushed.

I guess you could use that Guardian tutorial I linked you to when you asked about the Farseer. While not exactly designed for it, it should give you a general idea about painting Saim Hann Eldar. Most of it however will come down to practice.

I have decided that I might go for this look but instead of white, blood red blending to orange: http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/20688-Falcon.html
Any ideas on how to make those black vines?
Or if any other ideas, chuck them at me like no tomorrow?

Vines would have been done with either the detail or fine detail brush with bits of grey put on the edges to make it look more 3dish.

Are you saying this will be hard and nOT_U, is it possible you can explain that a bit more?

It shouldn't be that hard to do. Once you have finished painting it draw the vines on with black paint first. Then when it has dried do the thorns. Then all you need to do is picture where the light would hit it and do light touches of grey where it would.

It would strangely enough take a little more effort than the vines on that green tank you posted. The main vines not the little spiral ones that branch off of them.

Someone suggested useing a paint pen, would that be easyer?

Yes and no.
Some can be finicky.
ALL require very steady hands.

Try pencilling in the vines first, THEN going over it with black paint (half-water/half paint). There are vines how-tos on the GW website.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

I can never find them there, where can you get paint pens though?

Paint pens are mainly used for 'Lining' on model steam trains. I Recommend you find a site selling model railroad resources you should find them there.
PS. They are hard to use.

SO,in order to paint the vines, I need to draw it out on pencil, and than paint the inside of it black?
