I'm building a pair of chaos predators. I bought them online as a pair of chaos rhinos because they came waaaaaaayyyyy cheaper than if I'd bought them as predators or gotten them anywhere else. As of yet I still do not have all the parts, I will still be able to continue, and at least it makes me focus on actually completing the hull first before trying to do everything at once and trying to fix things afterward.... I am fast-tracking the first one to get some practical under my belt so I can turn the second one into a tutorial.

In the first two images I've stolen the turret from an IG Leman Russ to show what I am going for, because I will be using a leman russ turret. The second two show the completed sponsons of which I am fairly happy with.

You plasticard work is most impressive! Do you plan on magnetizing any of the options?

nah, im not planning on magnetizing. I always tend to buy too much stuff in terms of cash, and then after painting it, i always get upset if its not fielded. Besides which, placing expensive weapons onto a vehicle leaves me feeling ill. Predator does not seem like a heavy enough vehicle to upgrade all the way, so the las-sponsons always leave me nervous if the vehicle simply gets wrecked or destroyed, which tends to be relatively easy.


As the turret goes, since I'll be using an IG exterminator-cannon turret with chaos bitz, its generic appearance means I get to decide on the fly what it will be.

It may yet happen that the other rhino I have may be upgraded to a vindicator and not a predator. Otherwise, if I do go for two predators, I will simply have to keep the armament the same on both when I field them.

The turret also has a few more plans. For instance, the front claw-guards from the defiler will go over the mantlet to chaosify the tank some more.

Really like your plasticard edging here.

Consider magnetising for the turrets and weapon choices to give yourself maximum choice.

I know its an old thread, didn't want to start a new one because its a continuation of the project.

Finally got the parts to move along with the chaos predator. Things almost finished, just some more edging work and beef out and maybe armor those sponsons.

Also got started on the vindicator. This one has me upset. I'm not quite sure what to do, as im very tempted to put a pair of Iron Warriors Iconography on either cover that goes over the door, but really really really don't feel like custom-carving the side-panels for that. I already know how I'd do it, but I'm really not keen, so I'm open to either options or suggestions for what else to do (at the moment im leaning toward armor-strips with bolts in them), or how to shave off hours of work from creating the iron skulls. Im also not keen on spending any more money on this project because that means waiting for more parts, and I kinda need to finish this inside of a week.

If you are wondering;
-that top hatch was created by cutting one of the emblems off of the defiler legs, the rest is obvious.
-the gunner poking out of the top does have alot of hair, two top-knots were cut and messed around with to give him a flimsy mohawk.
-the vindicator gun housing does have some pointy-tracery bits, but i really ought have done that with a thicker plasticard in retrospect
