CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT!

So according to GW's what's going on today page:

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/blogPost.jsp?aId=15100031a

Specifically, focus your attention on this:

Games Workshop wrote:Tamurkhan: The Throne of Chaos will be the first in a series of expansion books for Warhammer, and as you can see from the fantastic cover art, it promises to be very dark and sinister. While the book's primary focus is on Chaos, there's plenty in there for every Warhammer hobbyist with loads of new background to read. The book also promises to unite the three factions of Chaos: Warriors, Beastmen and Daemons, providing you with the rules to use all three in one all-conquering army.

So, yeah, that's pretty interesting, considering how many people have been annoyed by the seperation of the forces of Chaos.

Sorry if this goes in a different section.

I can't wait to see that. I am definitely interested in it. I just picked up some WoC and I can hear the call of the wild beastmen already.

It would make for better themed armies as daemons would no longer be forced to take foul creatures from the blood god in a Tzeench army.

The Changer doesn't play well with the other gods.

I was thinking of using gors for marauders and minotaurs for chaos ogres, but now I can use them as is and mix and match. Maybe.

I find it hard to believe anyone but Nurgle would be willing to cooperate with the others, Slaneesh is too egocentric to ally with the others and Khorne is just too confident and/or proud.

Daemons are daemons. There's gazillions of them. It's not like Nurgle himself is directing every single one. They make it clear that some get the attention of their lords and rise to prominence and/or fall from grace. So the vast majority of the time they are pretty much solo agents.

You know, it's chaotic.

This is excellent news considering I've not long started to collect Warriors of Chaos after spending a long time deciding between Warriors and Daemons. Looks like I get the best of both worlds!

Everything happens according to Tchar's will.

I'm very interested to see how this goes and hope it'll be worth. I have both WoC and DoC armies and sort of miss being able to combine them. I miss my old Hordes of Chaos and Storms of Chaos books.

This could be fun to watch. I won the beastmen book as a raffle item at my last tourney, I could have fun with this.

Very interesting... I couldn't tell from the page / clip here, what kind of book will this be? A warhammer forge expansion type book (like the imperial armor ones for 40k?), a legitimate rulebook, more of a background book, etc?

Seeing as how it goes with the new Forge models, i'd say its the first fantasy "imperial armour", as such it's success will determine if there'll be any others.

Agreed. I think it would be pretty fitting for a theme seeing say a khornate army with beastmen gor herds providing extra bodies. Having struck a deal with their herd bray shaman.

You all are aware that Warhammer Forge books are supplements not usable for standard games, right? This list is fine for frindly games (if you buy the 30+ pound book), but doesn't overrule the standard separation between WoC, DoC and Beatsmen nor is a hint for future army books.

Makes sense, not for tourney use, but if I played someone who wnated to run a list with actual rules for that, it'd be fine with me.

Same. Would also be good for chaos armies wanting to have a more interesting theme for campaigns and such.

I figured as much, doesn't make this less awesome in my opinion. Having all the options for Doc/Beastmen/WoC in a normal game would be a bit much, anyway! But it sounds like a great addition which I will probably be picking up.

I don't play in official tournies anyway, so I don't care about it being "GW legal" or not.

That being said, I grow tired of seeing nurgle models. Seems any idiot can gs some popped bubbles onto a model and call it a conversion of nurgle.

I'd like to see more Tzeench and Slaanesh models as they are sorely under represented by GW.

I'll sell all my Bestigors for Chaos Warriors in a heartbeat...

This is, seriously, big news for me, I love my bestigors a lot, but, they really are gak compared to Warriors.

Well, the original plan of Warhammer Forge is to release models and books for all 4 Chaos Gods, all with different crusade directions and enemies. We will see what of that plan survived the dismissal of the author, Rick Priestley.

Centigors counts-as Dragon Ogres would work already, if you're playing WoC. If you're DoC, I'm not sure... but it will definitely be nice to be able to "legally" field all the craziness of chaos together in a friendly game

I wonder how the Indy GT's will do with this. They tend to adopt the non standard GW lists pretty commonly. If so maybe I run a mono god list at some point.
