don't think, you have to know it if you want to be a commander
2010-> IG losses:5, draws: 1, wins: a really lot of wins
2011 IG losses: 2, draws: 1 wins: 32
2012 losses: 8, draws: 0 wins: 15

I strongly dislike heavy weapons in infantry squads because it reduces mobility. If you want heavy weapons I would recommend getting a heavy weapons team. You should also give the priest an eviscerator to chew through tanks. I also feel that the PCS lone mortar won't be doing much and would be better as a flame squad with 3x flamers.

Food for thought.

oke, i know about the mortar, but it is because i have 5 points left for them.

i really like heavy weapon teams at the squads, because you can take just 1 special weapon ( if i want to do that, it will be melta or plasma and then i want vets. ) and 3 autocannons in a unit is good enough i think with the order bring it down...

i had not enough points for a eviscator, so thats why, but i dont expect a lot of tanks at 750 points and if it is so, i have a lascannon and 3 outflanking meltaguns...

I think the problem is that you're trying to use Al'Rahem at a point level that really isn't particularly condusive. You have 100pts invested in Al'Rahem (including the Astropath). What I would do is this:

CCS - /50pts

PCS - /30pts
3x Infantry Squad - 3x Power Weapon, 3x Melta bombs, Commissar, Power Weapon/240pts

PCS - /30pts
3x Infantry Squad - 3x Power Weapon, 3x Melta bombs, Commissar, Power Weapon/240pts
HWT - 3x Autocannons/75pts

Total: 665pts

Add special weapons into the squads and command squads as you see fit. Frankly, at this level, you can only bring the bare essentials with no extra tricks.

I don't know if al'rahem is really going to do much for you at this points level. You can easily fit two infantry platoons on the table at 750 points, making al'rahem+astropath a very expensive, non-necessary upgrade. I'd seriously consider dumping them and using the 100 points towards a third infantry blob or some better weapon upgrades, or something.

- ninja'd. The above list is pretty solid for the points level. The extra points could be used to make a good CCS, as mentioned, or to buy a third commissar to give you the option to run 3 20-dude power blobs or a 40+20 if you so desire.

I personally would trade that astropath for a master of ordnance instead. You would be amazed how handy he is. Especially if you are foot slogging it.

Now I understand you are going for an army that is outflanking, hence the astropath and Al'rahem, but he is better at a higher points level.

Just remember he has a 50/50 chance of getting in on turn two and you have a 2/3 chance on him arriving where you want him. Yeah the astropath helps secure it, but his platoon does not look very heavy hitting.

Especially when an autocannon is slapped in to the one squad and then you actually put power weapons on your sergeants. Handy yes, but I think you could invest those points elsewhere.

I'd probably invest them in sniper rifles for the rear line squads and an extra melta gun for the ones that are in the front.

Since you are running meltas with the outflank just giving the sergeants melta bombs would be a good investment...or carapace for the CCS since a lascannon combined with a master of ordnance will draw in a lot of fire.

Hope that helps.

Infantry leads the way!
