Hi all,

I am currently building up my Eldar force its been a long time in the making and has gone through many color schemes. I have finally decided on my own color scheme, as to not be any specific craftworld but being able to "counts-as" any craftworld. (Fluff and other goodies to come later).

My current dilemma is what to paint my army to give it a uniform, yet distinct look. I still want each aspect squad to stand slightly apart from their allies, but still be tied into the army as a whole.

My base colors are Enchanted Blue, Skull White, and Shining Gold.
All the vehicles and large pieces are Enchanted Blue and Shining Gold, the lines on the tanks are royal blue. All leader classes i.e. exarchs, autarchs, farseers, warlocks, and avatars will be a mix of Black Gold and Blue. All weapons will be black and gold (expect special weapons, witchblades, power weapons, etc). Guardians will be white with blue helmets (think of blue Biel-Tan).

As for the aspects, they will all vary but using the same color palet. As you can see in the photos they are generally blue and white. I tried playing around with different shades as you can see with the Fire Dragons and Dark Reapers being darker blue and the Scorpions being lighter blue. I want to stay away from the 'rainbow' or 'skittles' look that you see in Codex:Eldar with every single aspect being completely different. I want more of a unified look with each aspect's color still signifying that they are different from their battle brothers.

What do you think of the army as a whole and the units individually? Do different shades stand TOO FAR out? Or do they tie in close enough to be considered unified?

Any tips on tying the army together as a whole? Maybe everyone should have some Enchanted Blue or should they all just be enchated blue and white?

I've been told that the army will look a lot better when its based, but I don't want to base them yet in case I want to repaint the dark and light blue shades.

Thanks for the help, looking forward to hearing from you.

Looks like a coherent army to me!
I'm following the same kind of colour scheme you are... Blue to tie it all together with the Aspect colours being official.
I haven't stuck to one shade of blue and it all works together nicely imo. Saves looking at a monotonous wall of blue (we can get that from Ultramarines ).

I'm going to agree here. All your stuff looks good colours wise, so if it's not coming together for you my guess is because the bases are undone.

I have recently been diagnosed with swelling in the brain, so please excuse spelling mistakes and faulty sentences. I am losing my ability to type and talk effectively, but dammit, that is not going to stop me from trying.
