Sorry about making a new thread, but this is a new army, and there was a small argument on my other army list thread, so I figured I wouldn't bring attention to this.

I know this isn't the stereotypical Plauge Marine/Oblit list, but I've always been fond of Slaanesh, and I figured I'd use their slightly competitive side.

First, my 1,000 point list:

HQ:
Daemon Price (155) w/ Wings, Mark of Slaanesh, Lash of Submission

TROOPS:
Chaos Marines x10 (180) w/ Meltagun x2, Chaos Glory
Rhino (35)
Noise Marines x5 (155) w/ Blast Master
Rhino (35)
Noise Marines x5 (155) w/ Blast Master
Rhino (35)

HEAVY SUPPORT:
Vindicator (125)
Vindicator (125)

TOTAL: 1000

From using Vindicators in the Vanilla Marine's Codex, they work great against a lot of things, especially with the BS of 4. Now with the DP dropping a lash every turn he can, most of my army has high ranged blast weapons, therefore, that nicely grouped up SM Squad will be hit by up to 2 Large Blasts, and 3 Small Blasts.

The Noise Marines are to sit in the Rhino as long as they can and fire the Blastmaster out, if infantry is getting to close, it can back up and still let out some nice fire.

The Marines Squad is going to advance in their Rhino, packing two Meltas they are supposed to sit in their rhino as long as they can, so they will be able to melta tanks/MC. Furthermore, they will be there to attempt to capture, contest or eliminate units at the opposing players objective in Capture and Control.

I think this list could work out well, I have never played it/against it, but it looks ok on paper. With enough S8 to comfortably take out tanks, and enough blast to destroy hordes, I think it could do decent.

------------------------- ------------------------- ------------------------- ------------------------- -------------------------

Now my 1,500 point is essentially the same, but with a few changes.

HQ:
Daemon Prince (155) w/ Wings, Mark of Slaanesh, Lash of Submission
Daemon Prince (155) w/ Wings, Mark of Slaanesh, Lash of Submission

TROOPS:
Noise Marines x 5 (155) w/ Blastmaster
Rhino (45) w/ Combi Flamer
Noise Marines x 5 (155) w/ Blastmaster
Rhino (45) w/ Combi Flamer
Noise Marines x 5 (155) w/ Blastmaster
Rhino (45) w/ Combi Flamer
Summoned Daemons x7 (91)
Summoned Daemons x7 (91)

HEAVY SUPPORT:
Vindicator (125)
Vindicator (125)
Havocs x5 (155) w/ Missile Launcher x4

TOTAL: 1497

Plenty of blast again, another DP to put out another lash, the 10 Man Squad is dropped for another 5 Man Noise Marine Squad.

I have one question, I have not read this but someone at my FLGS said that the Daemons get the Icon from their respected Cult for free? Is this a Chaos Daemons rule only? Furthermore, can Daemons only be called in next to an Icon? The wording in the Codex makes it seem so.

I added them for some Close Combat power they put out 4 S4 attacks on the charge, so they will be good enough to kill most objective holders/slow the opposing players advance to my line. (I'm mostly including them because I like the model, I know they aren't to competitive.)

I think they might be where I could change the list around most, but I like the idea.

Opinions?

In the Chaos Marines codex, daemons do not get icons. And yes, they must be placed within 6'' of an icon that is already on the table. Very important, because if you reserve all of your icons for some reason, there is a chance that the summoned daemons could die because there is not an icon on the table at the start of the turn.

As far as using them, they are good for certain things. One good use is simply to drop them of on objectives as the rest of your force rumbles forward. Also handy if you are stuck in a combat and need to get out of it. I probably wouldn't send them charging out on their own, but they mesh well with the army.

(Edit: ALthough they should be squads of 6 if you are running a slaanesh theme! )

The Daemons are there as Assault Buffer's with my DP. However, with them needing an Icon, I think it may be hard to use them properly.

One thing, should I use 2 Sorcerers put in the Rhinos with lash so that I can fit in the EC Squads?

Furthermore, BP/CCW on the EC? So when enemies get to close I bail out and charge at I5. Or would Bolters or Sonic Weapons be better?

I've done many tests on the effectiveness of the Sonic Weapons. When it comes to Sonic Blasters vs Doom Siren/Champion/Power Weapon the ladder comes ahead in nearly every scenario.

Now with that in mind I've made a few adjustments to your 1500 list:

Daemon Prince (155) w/ Wings, Mark of Slaanesh, Lash of Submission
Daemon Prince (155) w/ Wings, Mark of Slaanesh, Lash of Submission

Noise Marines x 8 (215) w/ Champion - Power Weapon - Doom Siren - Meltabomb - Icon
Rhino (35)
Noise Marines x 8 (215) w/ Champion - Power Weapon - Doom Siren - Meltabomb - Icon
Rhino (35)
Noise Marines x 5 (140) w/ Blastmaster
Rhino (50) w/ Havoc Launcher

Vindicator (125)
Vindicator (125)
Havocs x5 (155) w/ Missile Launcher x4

Summoned Daemons x7 (91)

If you ever want to go 1750 - 2000 then I would recommend replacing the DPs with Sorcerers.

Hi, thanks for the response Devo, I appreciate it. Would I use CCW in those Noise Marine Squads with 8 in them? You would suggest that over Blastmasters?

lol, no problem.
8 NM using a Rhino for drive-by Doom Siren can really put the hurt on any MEQ, plus NMs are fantastic in CC thanks to their high Initiative, Fearless, and 3 attacks on the charge. Let's say you can get a squad of NMs in range with a DS to shoot, then assault, you'll average 5.75 unsaved wounds against other marines before they can even fight back!

Edit:
Oh, and if you feel 8 NM aren't enough, you could always drop the summoned daemons to fill up the squads.

Just remember that there are alot of counters to Lash right now (mech, librarians, rune priests, crucible of malediction, soon GKs) and DPs are huge targets that crumble to massed fire and melta/plasma. Sorcs can at least hide in a squad and fire from a Rhino.

Sonic blasters are overpriced on NMs who are overpriced to begin with.

The problem you've got is your taking expensive cult troops which you HAVE TO PAY EXTRA for the special weapons which is really crap. You've got the blastmasters which if I remember right can be assault or heavy weapon, which in total is 15 troop numbers plus the Lesser Daemons which isn't a lot at all. If you want proper anti tank at a much cheaper price and keeping in theme go normal CSM with MoS and double meltaguns as those S8 blastmasters are only good for light to medium armour.

The Daemon Princes are ok but lash of submission won't work against mech lists so you will need to pop the tanks first.

Vindicators are ok but the Havocs are stupidly expensive.

This list is actually quite good.
However, the list lacks long-range fire support.
I'd replace one Vindicator with 2 Obliterators by dropping some Daemons.

Hey thanks guys, I was thinking does anyone play a lash list? If so how does it do in todays competitive play? It seems Null Zone would drop it every time. I think I am going to use TheDevo's list as a start if I get around to getting the models. How about replacing the Havocs And Daemons with Oblits?

Yeah, I play EC at several occasions.
Please have a look into two recent battle reports (with pics) here at Dakka (vs. Space Wolves).
