Im sure most people have seen this mock up of the leaders crisis suit from dawn of war. If not:

Anyway not knowing what I was getting into I decided that even if my tau army never gets off the ground, that design is cool enough to build, and is a bit of nostalgia from the fun times at dawn of war to boot. Anyway here is my take on him, next to my custom ghaz for size comparison, which is just a bit taller than a dreadnaught.

Thats exactly why I like this model. The tau suits are far too square for me to like. Hoepfully with their new rulebook they get a resculpt, whenever that is.

Was this done with the tutorial for the DoW Shas'O commander? It was posted on a foreign site that's down now, but I recognise the design elements.

EDIT: nvm didnt read the actual post, I was looking at the model the entire time. Great Job! I wanted to try it, but it seemed too expensive and too large for what I wanted =x

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

It does stand much taller than a standard suit (probably would have been a good comparison, and the price aint cheap, but no worse than many special characters out there, like ghazkull. Every army needs a centerpiece though. And to tell you the truth, I had planned on copying all the pieces with instantmold and making alot, thus lowering the cost per unit, but the detail just dosent show through, so I scrapped that idea.
