I think its because he looks soo chunky

it looks almost like a scribord or 3rd party model.

it also might be the angle of the shot.

I should think of a new signature... In the meantime, have a

To my eyes the armour is more rounded and flowing than a normal astartes; it almost looks like fantasy armour. Will have to wait and see on this guy.

Personally prefer Garro, but await more views, as others do, to make full judgement. The medicae orderlies are awesome though! I love the way FW has painted them- the choice of bright blue, glossy gloves really gives them such a clinical, surgical look that makes them stand out, and also somehow makes them look even more sinister. Brilliant combo with the baroque armour.

Now please explain on why you just posted a link to a video which i already posted a link to?

Is Aevos the guy on the right in the picture of the medicae? The one who doesn't have a blood-splattered apron?

I also feel that Rubio doesn't feel like a Forge World product at all. It reminds me partly of a 3rd party effort and partly of something GW might have put out a couple of decades ago. It's not even particularly terrible, just really jarring.

Those SA Medicae on the other hand are stunning. I think I already said in this thread that they are some of the finest infantry models they've ever done. Slapping on a character tax is not something we should welcome, but I almost think they're entitled to milk these guys given the outstanding quality.

I think it might be the paint job with Rubio. I'll have to see the unpainted pics.

I've got enough Medicae models as is for my army, so all I really need now is to build an auto-gurney of sorts, as I really do want to field that guy. 4+ FnP is really good, especially when I can toss that on my Rogue Trader and Veletaris honour guard with power axes into a Zone Mortalis setting, the perfect MEQ-mincer.

How did you build Medicae? Any chance for pics?

The battle sisters nurse mini is great for SA or any other place you need a medic. One of my favorite GW older minis

I believe it is this fellow. The brass handle sticking out to the right appears to be for a needle pistol on the 360 view. He also wouldn't need the apron due to having a surgical tool that does not break the skin.

Not too sure myself, the laspistols of the honour guard models from the Tactical Command Squad also have laspistols with those long, slender grips.

Though seeing as he has the fanciest uniform and the most kit about him.. I may have been wrong with who was in charge.

The medicae are interesting, but not really a fan of the model on the "gurney". Still, cool to see that FW is willing to branch out and do creative things like this

Has anyone else had a hard time with the black library Taghmata epub? I've downloaded and tried a few epub readers and none of them display the book correctly.

The paintjob is unfortunate. It looks uncharacteristic of FW and it drowns out a lot of the detail that's clear and obvious in the unpainted pictures.

Unpainted, and particularly without the exaggerated highlights, they look quite good. If they had been given a more typical, moderate and realistic, airbrushed and weathered FW detail, they would have looked a lot better.

Personally I'm still not a huge fan of the pseudo-baroque cosmonaut look, but they're not bad models.

Still my personal favourite surgeon. If you can trust someone (or something) wearing a surgical gown, then who can you trust?

I'm at work atm, but pretty sure it was a epub file. The thing is that instead of displaying the pages properly I get one page with the background and images, and the next is all the unformatted text that goes on that page. I've tried a few readers now.

Thanks, I thought as much. I like the light blue surgical gloves he's got on - especially the little aquila on the back of the hand! It looks like the sort of thing that would be a breeding ground for germs!

I was wondering about the infection control aspects myself the other day. I reckon the gloves are disposable gloves that slip over the void armour, due to them all being clean, unlike the aprons. I reckon they must have access to some powerful, non-toxic disinfectants though, that coat the tools, because that chainsaw sure doesn't look disposable, and it hasn't been cleaned (as you might expect on the battlefield), so there must be some other way in which they prevent their charges later dying of infection. Which may possibly just be giving them a large prophylactic antibiotics dose. Hmm, musings of 30k healthcare techniques.

And, appropriate to the theme of solar auxilia, we have confirmation of the rules-only book for the non-marine 30k armies: https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/The-Forge-World-Bulletin/2016/05/02/Armies-of-the-Imperium
