I recently ordered some stuff from ArmorCast and the stuff is still 'processing' and the stuff was supposed to have been here Friday-Tomorrow. Needless to say, it's not going to get here by the 5-7 business days... I can't email them because 'ginfritter's' email box is full.

Has anyone ordered from ArmorCast? Anyone know what's going on over there? I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but on the other hand I want my stuff and am starting to feel ripped off...

I ordered from them about a month ago and it took me a few weeks to get the stuff in. I had to call them and e-mail them as they did not hit the time with myself either and then when the material came it was in generic plastic bags, but I eventually did receive everything in one shipment that I was supposed to receive, but clearly not within 5 -7 business days.

Does the word Adepticon ring a bell? And its importance to small companies like Armorcast probably attending the show with a booth and both owners/workers?

Yet you would assume that small companies would value those orders placed a month before Adepticon and other events, in order to receive continued business/repeat custom... this is not valid rationale/excuse.

Unnecessary, but not unexpected.

Where does this "a month before Adepticon" claim suddenly come from? The thread was started one day after Adepticon and the customer complains about a delay of several days.
BTW both owners have daytime jobs, this Armorcast is done in addition to main jobs. They do what they can and they do it quite well. And producing, packing and transporting all stuff for the long journey to make all customers there happy is a big effort for such a small company.

Doesn't get away from the fact that you first reply was a tad dickish and unwarrented when a simple explanation to someone asking a question would have done - I am sure you could have cut and pasted an answer from another site for the OP instead of serving up snark.

Armorcast has always been slow, always. I had issues with them 7+ yrs ago buying a MadCat that was warped as all get out. As to there recent issues, I am not buying from a company that is known for slow delivery regardless of them having another job or any other reason. As a customer, I expect prompt delivery and excuses like Adepticon and having a day job just don't cut it for me - it is either a viable business or it isn't. So, as much as I like their stuff I don't buy it.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

They were at Adepticon... with a lot of stock. Seemed like they were selling fairly well ( not FW and Cmon brisk) but still decent.

They had set up by thurs night so I'm betting no one was at the home base till yesterday or today.

Bought a bunch of terrain from them and Cinematic efx...

In the duplicate thread http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/358472.page the OP acknowledged that he ordered on Wednesday before Adepticon (not a month before) and paniced on Monday after Adepticon, one day before the standard time of one week for order processing ended. Guess the question is answered.

And BTW I was busy posting Forge World news and didn't have the time to visit the Armorcast forum to confirm the obvious explanation.

Mr. Kroot didn't look that it was not me who posted about the month before thing.

OMG I'm SOOOOOOoo sorry I didn't know it was Adepticon time. I should have known. I also should have known that 2 hard-working people with day jobs work ArmorCast out of their garage and the claim of 5-7 business days was never to be taken seriously! Feth ME with a double scoop! I'm SUCH a whiny a-hole for wanting my product I paid money for in a timely fashion in which a licensed retailer promised.

Look, I just want to know other people's experience so I'll know if my stuff is coming or not. I've never ordered from this company before, I don't know if they're reputable and I don't want to get ripped off by a out-of-business internet company like I have before! It's not like we're in a major recession where businesses are going down the toilet right and left or anything. EXXXxxxCUUUUUUSE ME!

And Armorcast is a very reputable company having a big role in helping other small companies, but they are just humans.

So, how much are they paying you to be their corporate shill?

The supply does not get to make the demands.

If Armorcast is so damned small that they can't ship in the time they promise they should either change the promise or change their business.

Really, all it would take would be a simple note on their website saying: Armorcast will be at Adepticon from xdate to ydate. Orders submitted this week and early next week may be delayed due to convention preparation. We apologize for any inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding.

It would take about 10 minutes (maximum) to make that change and then we all wouldn't have to fight about who's prettier.

Additionally, not having adequate e-mail space for your business is booooogus. No excuse there.

You did no such thing - you gave a good helping of very unhelpful snark when a simple to the point reply would have worked.

And Armorcast is a very reputable company having a big role in helping other small companies, but they are just humans.

They are still crap at shipping though no matter how good their product is (though the quality of some of the cast has not been that great).

Wow, it's like reading PP forums. Every time someone complains about customer service, angry fanboys scream "It's Adepticon/PAX/Gencon/Templecon/whatever season, give them a break!"

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

Only this time it is proven that they were not at home when the order arrived until the post was made. They actually were seen being at Adepticon. And obviously producing enough stuff for Adepticon, packing and transporting it, building the booth, then coming back takes a while. Pointing that out doesn't make me a fanboy or a corrupt poster.

Which is not sufficient rebuttal for all the points against them.

- Poor customer service

- Poor communication

- Poor planning

Seems Armourcast is a side-job that doesnt get the time or effort required to satisfy customers.

Kroot, just admit that you are a blinkered Armourcast fanboi and leave it at that.

FW does the same thing with big cons....
Little or no notice that they won't ship do to the con...
Nothing on their web sight stating the fact
Product stocked up and shipped to con
Not enough shipped to con to remotely meet demand
No one home to answer emails ship stuff out...
After big con/s don't have stuff in stock to ship out orders till more is cast ( IE: any thing Greyknight, TL AC for dreads, Vult's, Eldar any thing)

Where is the complaining there?

because they are both examples of poor customer service ..... duh!

Since when does two wrongs make a right. Seriously dude, come on, communication costs nothing and adds so much to how a customer feels about a company. I cannot believe you really brough the argument "FW is just as bad so quit complaining" to the discussion.

I admit I am a bit antsy with a n order to a small manufacturer who posts here, but it's still less than a week and I haven't heard a shipping notice, but I'm not freaking out yet. : ) I PM'ed him and I'll wait a week before I start getting really paranoid.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Bad business = Bad business. There are things that you can't plan for, ie. natural disasters, deaths in the family or whatever. (Not wishing that upon anyone) And that is fine if my shipment gets delayed because of that or some other GOOD reason. Adepticon is there, it's a date that has been known for a while, you should have the capacity to fill your orders and plan accordingly, unless you send out an e-mail or post up a message on your website about it you can't make any excuse. A business is a business, and if I payed my money expecting things to be delivered in one week and it took three I wouldn't bring my business back there.

Need a clue? Check the sprue.

The folk heroes at ArmorCast saw fit to ship my order today. I'm still not pleased it's a week late, but at least I know that it's coming which is all I wanted to know in the first place.

So if a MOD would be so kind as to close this thought provoking thread forever I would be most grateful. Thanks!
