personally i prefer a goblin green drybrush then a bit in wood stain. it gives a very dirty organic feel that looks really good. i feel the skins a bit dark with ur current scheme.

Not bad at all! It would look a little better if there was not so much black, give him an OD shirt and brown boots.

I would like your pictures better if they were the right way up....

The skin is a little dark, Most people agree with fluff that orks get darker as the grow and age so the big boss would be the biggest and darkest of your orksies??

maybe a final highlight and a little more colour or a white checkerboard pattern would help lighten the model a little.

I'd use a pin vice and drill a hole in the barrel, do what sickening said about adding more colors to the black, maybe dry brush some tin bits to give it a rusty look?

And don't forget to base. Otherwise, great model!

for a first model, it's great. forget talk about pin vices and advanced gak until you're ready to start kitbashing. just keep cranking em out like that (and you'll have to, with orks).

steps you might want to take next with that and similar models are some washes, and a bit of watered down bronze in the crevices of your choppa, and some lighter green highlights on the raised areas of the muscles.

Drilling barrels is considered advanced?

When you have 50+ to do, they would be on the lower part of the priority list.
